Poor Quality Electronic Touchpad

Purchased microwave 4 years ago as part of total kitchen renovation with all new GE appliances. Touchpad failed within first 2 months so could not use it at all. GE would not replace it even though I felt it was a lemon. They replaced the touchpad unit. Within a year the digital clock numbers were disappearing making it difficult to use timer, set controls, etc. Then the touchpad numbers started failing again. At present only the 1 and the 4 are working, making it almost impossible to use the microwave and you can't tell how long anything is cooking as the clock numbers are only partially visible. As this oven was built in with a trim kit above my wall oven, I am locked in to something that will fit in the same space. To have 2 touchpad/control units stop working in 3 1/2 years is totally unacceptable-very poor quality. In addition, a poor design feature is that the touchpad is not backlight making it very difficult see unless a bright light is shining on. I cannot recommend this product and now am in a quandry as to how to proceed. Of course it is no longer under warranty.

Horrible

I replaced this microwave after only six yrs. It has been repaired three times in that period of time and was not going to invest more money to repair it again. Was forced to buy the same exact microwave again as this is a built-in and needs to match the oven. I have no confidence that this new one will work any better than the one I just had to pay to have hauled away. If there was a zero stars I would have used it

Doesn't last long

Worked great for 3 years, but now the control pad start button and several other buttons stopped working. Of course not under warranty any more. Way too expensive for it to "die" so soon. We have all GE appliances, but many have to rethink if they have to be replaced so quickly.

We recommend trying a quick electronic reset for this. You can do this by unplugging the power cord for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. GE Lemon Oven

Like everyone else in the reviews, control panel and keypad stops working. I live in this home by myself and have had this microwave for 5 years and it's a lemon. GE is selling a defect product right out of the box I would not recommend this microwave. buyer beware.

Disappointing. Will need to be replaced.

Installed 2020, door replaced under warranty because a seal failed and was drooping down between the glass. Digital number lines began to disappear early this year and reading numbers is a guessing game. Now I can only use the automatic time buttons and cannot use the cook time feature or program oven temperature.

Control Panel Failed

The control panel lights on this oven began failing after about 2 years of service. Now some of the buttons have failed. Disconnecting & reconnecting power doesn't help. Have to have it repaired. And we haven't found the convection features to be worth the extra cost.

Never had to replace a microwave - ever! The built-in GE profile convection microwave came with our new construction home in 2019. In less than 3 years, the lit numbers on the control panel began going dark, then one button at a time stopped working. Before 4 years of age, it was inoperable! Most of my neighbors seem to be having the same problem. Every review gets the same response from GE, so my advice would be to run from any GE appliance. They’ve obviously become a low quality manufacturer.
