I haven't quite figured out the convection settings because I have a toaster oven, but the microwave works very well. I steam veggies often and the frozen vegetable sensor cook setting is great for that. We installed into a cutout in the cabinet with the built-in kit for this model. That was easy and it looks great, but it's fairly expensive for both items in my opinion.

Had this unit installed one month ago and we are totally satisfied with its operation. Presently, we use it for re-heating leftovers because we are performing the normal baking and cooking tasks for the new GE oven unit installed below. So far, it has been performing much better and quicker with less operational noise than our replaced unit. Our only negative point was the built-in trim plate assembly had a dent in its beautiful finish straight out of the box. The damage appeared to have been done during the unit packing stages and not during installation. Future exposure to damage could be avoided if the trim place were packaged with the stainless steel finished surface facing towards the interior of the shipping container, instead of outward, exposed to damage. The trim plate was replaced in one week.

Good appliance needs improvement

I loved the idea of being able to bake normally & also microwave with the same appliance but the frustration of the menu display being such a light color and no light behind it needs improved.
The interior metal doesn't clean very well & is soiled permanently.
This is our third GE Profile appliance for our newly remodeled kitchen and has been a disappointment.
