Works beautifully!

We purchased this dehumidifier to put in our basement, and it works beautifully! It is quiet and efficient. It reduces the humidity to the exact percentage we set. We are very happy with the Figidaire dehumidifier!

Very quiet.

I've had four different dehumidifiers now and this is the quietest by far. It is almost impossible to tell if the compressor is running on this unit. I have to feel warm air coming out the top to know it's running. I bought this 70 pt Frigidaire to replace a cheapie unit which would keep the basement at 50% and cycle off and on a lot. I have this Frigidaire in my basement set at 50% and it seems to be running almost all the time. It seldom cycles off.
My last cheap unit may have been a bit more effective but it only lasted one season before losing all it's coolant. The one before that was recalled. The first one is still working but is only a 30 pt unit and sounds like a thrashing machine.
The Frigidaire seems very well built and the floor drain system is the easiest to use of any. If I had to find fault with anything it would be the humidity setting and display.
Unlike any other dehumidifier I've owned, it will only display and can only be set in 5% increments, not 1%. I have it set at 50% and that's what it always reads while it is running. My analog humidity meter will usually show the actual humidity between 47% and 58% while the unit is running and displaying 50%. I never know for sure what the humidity is. I've had it set to 55% and the unit was cycling off and on as though the humidity was 55% but the display always read 50%. It's a mystery to me.
Hopefully it will last a long time and isn't going to cost me a fortune to run.

The first one I bought I had to return it was so noisy I could hear it upstairs. The second one hass been working great.

I bought this recently because my AC repairman suggested I get one to see if it would help out because my AC ran continuiously. We live in a very high humidity climate and our AC gets a workout. I am so glad I bought this because I have been able to run my AC about six degrees higher and still feel very comfortable. My electric bill has gone down too. It's amazing how much moisture this machine takes out of your house. So far, I am very pleased.

I bought this dehumidifier two months ago, and have found that it lowered my basement humidity in two days, and has been able to keep it under 50%. Although it is more noisy than I would like, it definitely does the job.
