Pulls an amazing amount of moisture out of a room.

Bought one unit about two months ago to resolve a moisture problem in a detached garage that partially below grade and has 6 concrete surfaces, floor, ceiling, and 3.5 walls.
This building is my wood working shop. Water was laying in the corners of the floor and walls. Mold and mildew were growing on Lumber and cabinets.
After on day, and emptying the bucket several times, the walls and floor were dry and you feel the difference in the air.
Bought an additional unit for my basement. Again, the unit did the job and you can feel the difference in the room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wait and see

My previous dehumidifier lasted 15 years. So when I bought this dehumidifier jul 2014 and it stopped working may 2015. You can imagine I was upset. It was under warranty and has been replaced free of charge. When I picked up the replacement they had two. One for me and one for someone else. The same issue. This is a non repairable sealed unit. when working it does a great job. We will wait and see how long this one lasts....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dry Basement Pro

Very good at drying out the basement. A part in the bucket was broken in delivery and it was replaced at no charge. The unit works well with a hose attached and snaking to a drain. The only challenge is noise, rather loud fan. My cat's enjoy no mold but one sassed at the machine for the noise. I wish that there was an internal timer so that I could have it go on and off at certain times of the day.

Frigidaire FAD704DWD Dehumidifier

My wife and I are amazed at the amount of water this unit removes from our house - gallons, not pints. The humidity level can easily be lowered 10-15% in a few hours until it reaches the 45% range and then the humidity drop is not as noticeable. But, a humidity level of 45-50% is acceptable for us.
The noise level is slightly bothersome but not disturbing or unbearable. It also heats up the house slightly. We expected this since we researched these units before making our final decision on which unit to purchase.
We have overcome the noise by running the unit as much as possible when we are away from the house. When we are home and do need to use the unit, it does not interfere with our normal activities.
We have the thermostat on the air conditioner programmed to come on just before we arrive home, so the small amount of heat generated by the unit is overcome in short order.
Some reviews describe issues with the water collection container. We have had no issues at all with the container, or with the hose outlet.
So, in a nutshell, be aware that you will notice this unit in operation. Other than that, it will serve you well.

I've had this for a couple months now and it has worked well. It's very easy to use and reminds you to keep the filter cleaned. I believe it's very efficient because it completely shuts off when the desired moisture level is reached.
