Easy to operate

This is a quality machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been plagued with a damp basement for over 40 years and always used a dehumidifier in defense of the stuff stored there. I have also discovered that mildew grows in that environment and the humidity is critical to feeding it. When I set up the unit I set it on a reading I thought was impossible, 40% humidity. It took a few weeks to get rid of all the humidity but we reached 40% and the unit is keeping it dry in our basement. No more mildew smell, and everything is dry like it was upstairs. I have lived here and cycled through at least 8 brand new dehumidifiers, none of which were from Frigidaire. I can report that this one is the best I have had.It works extremely well. I am so impressed that I can honestly say I will stick with Frigidaire brand from now on.

A real work horse

Worked great for a year, then failed!!

Worked great for a year, then failed. It now only blows cold air for half an hour and then turns off displaying "EC". Of course all this happens shortly after the one year warranty period ends.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only worked for 2 seasons.

Great unit while it works. Unfortunately, the compressor system is failing and now the lower coils freeze while the upper coils are room temperature. The unit now runs at about 12% it's original 70pint capacity (while still using the same amount of energy).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback with us, birdtreeman. The evaporator on the back of the dehumidifier is made up of coils that get very cold while the unit runs. The moist air from the room is drawn across those coils by the fan so that the humidity in the air condenses. If the air temperature is too cold, the condensation will freeze. I would recommend unplugging the unit for several hours. You may also see moving the unit to a higher location since heat rises, and the floor would be the coldest area of the room. Raise the humidity % to a higher level as the unit may be working “too hard” for “too long” and needs to stabilize. EC error code

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the unit just over 2 years. Started getting the “EC” error code. I did a bit of research and this appears to be a very common fatal error. Nothing can be done. Seems like they need to focus on root cause as many folks have experienced this error. Up until the error, it worked great. Not sure I’d buy again unless they can assure me they’ve solved this problem.

Does a Great Job, No Worries !!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased my 70 pint Frigidaire Dehumidifier to keep my basement dry and protect my house from the potential dampness, rust, and mold that can occur to my belongings during the warmer months of the year. This product says it will service a room 1400 sq ft. My basement is 1475 sq ft. and it is doing a great job keeping the 2 rooms at 40% humidity. I am using the external connection to remove the moisture straight to the drain with a hose so that I don't need to empty the reservoir continuously, that is a big plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wife says 'our basement smells damp and dingy", Brought home FAD704DWD on way back from work (on sale at BJ's, thank you very much). Plugged in. Next morning wife comments " dang, that dehumidifier has already removed that smell". Now it's my job to empty the water, and it Pulls Some Water daily. Quite satisfied with our purchase.
