I recently purchased this model to address the high humidity in my basement. My old unit gave up after 13 years of continuous service. The new Frigidaire FAD704DWD model I purchased is most likely not large enough for my needs. It runs continuously and the lowest humidity reading I've seen is 45. It usually stays around 50. It produces a good deal of heat as well but this is a good thing in the winter but not so good during the summer. Filter has to be cleaned about once every two weeks. I would recommend this unit for a smaller basement of maybe 1200 to 1500 sq. ft.

Finally a dehumidifier that works

Have tried a couple of other brands that I bought in the store. They all had problems, in particular leaking when using a hose for continuous use. After returning these dehumidifiers to the store, I decided on to buy this Frigidaire online and it has worked perfectly, keeping my basement at a steady low humidity all summer long.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Removes moisture well

I bought this dehumidifier 2 months ago and so far it has worked well. Other dehumidifier we have owned have lasted only about a year so time will tell if this dehumidifier is more reliable. The top air exhaust does a great job of moving the air throughout the room.

Quietly Efficient

The unit has a 2 speed fan, we run it on low at 55% humidity. It keeps the basement quite pleasant with no dampness. The fan starts, a little while later the compressor kicks in and when the compressor kicks off the fan continues for a while longer. Compared to our other dehumidifiers, the Frigidaire runs less and is very quite. We use the front water container and not the hose adapter in the back. Nice styling and easy to move around. The only negative thing, so far, is the design of the water container. When you pour out the water you have to be careful not to tilt it too much to one side which will create 2 pour streams that may miss the target.

I cannot say enough good positive things about this Frigidaire dehumidifier. Thoroughly and thoughtfully engineered and so far dependable. When I think of this compared to my previous national brand dehumidifier it is like I just purchased a Cadillac and junked my previous lemon. I truly believe this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Dependable, engineered and manufactured to work correctly and to last for quite awhile.
