This the second Frigidaire FAD704DWD that has failed during the warranty period. I bought this high capacity dehumidfier, because I have other Frigidaire appliances that perform well. You should investigate the quality control process during manufacturing. I am happy you have agreed to "buy back" my unit. Thank you.

I bought this a month ago and it's been wringing out the moisture in our basement ever since. Great features such as hi and low speed fan, filter with an indicator when it needs cleaning, and a digital readout of what the humidity is. It's doing a great job.

Robust and efficient, but constantly sampling

This unit pulls the humidity from the air quickly, relatively quietly, and it's energy efficient. It has a large capacity bucket, and it's easy to bypass the bucket for a drain hose. It dehumidifies several rooms full of air, as long as the air can circulate freely between rooms. This is heavy, and I'd never quite trust the "carry" handle to move this around in the air, but it has nice wheels that work smoothly. My biggest concern is the sensor location. I've tested the readout of the humidity in the room against a commercial hygrometer and the humidity sensor is quite accurate. However, the sensor appears to be built inside of the unit, and/or the sensor samples too frequently when the humidity is near or lower than the dehumidifier's setting. So, once the humidity is lowered to the desired level, the dehumidifier runs the fan At Least Once a Minute to check the humidity. Seems like there could be a timer to make this happen less frequently, or the sensor could be placed outside the unit where it could read the humidity without having to "inhale." This adds to the noise, and lowers the energy efficiency, and I hope Frigidaire fixes this issue in new models.

Outstanding dehumidifier

I bought this dehumidifier a few months ago and all I have to say is positive. Actually have recommended to a few o my coworkers and they have purchased it also. Have owned a few in the past ten years and this one works the best.
