Easy to use, difficult to keep clean

We bought this item about 3 months ago. During the end of the summer, we ran it continuously and was happy with the automatic cut-off because it did not ever run over. Now we run it every couple days.
Scum has built up in the bottom especially in the corners which are impossible to get to with even a long-handled brush. I did follow the cleaning directions, that is, swishing around soapy water, but that did nothing for the scum. It is still not as clean as I would like it to be. Any suggestions?

Sharp looking, fairly quite unit

Our old (probably 20 years) dehumidifier stopped working so to keep our basement dry a new one was needed. I read many reviews and this unit (Frigidaire - FAD704DWD) seemed to be well received. It does the job and has more features than our old one and is probably slightly quieter but like most all new appliance's today I fear it will never last as long as our last one. It only was needed about 5 weeks before the weather change, it did what is was made to do but since its so new to us I'm going to hold off judgment on it.

Product appears to be well-built and is very effective at removing moisture. Everything functions properly so far, no problem. Only complaint is that it is quite loud when operating.

Over the years, I've had several dehumidifiers. This one is the best yet. Easy set-up and operation. I especially like the controls and easy to remove/clean filter.

Had to buy when old one failed; ordered, shipped, plugged in, dry. Very quiet on top of it. Couldn't be more pleased.
