After much research I purchased this dehumidifier primary due to the overwhelming consensus of reviewers that this is the best value... Albeit not the lowest cost unit, but for the reliability and expected useful life. It is a well made unit with nice features... I use this in my 1500 Sq ft basement music Studio where noise is important, I am happy with the noise level is acceptable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just what I needed

I had 2 older and smaller dehumidifiers running in my basement that were no longer doing the job. I wanted one larger unit to do the job, and also wanted one that would accurately monitor the humidity in the basement, and only turn on at the set humidity level. Although I've only used the unit for a couple of months (dry winter weather has set in), it seems to be doing what I want. The humidity settings are in increments of 5, and seem to be close to the readings on a separate hygrometer. It was also highly rated in Consumer Reports, which led me to select it.

Really does the job

I have had this dehumidifier for a few months now. Prior to using it my basement had that damp smell. After running this a few days the smell is all gone. It really pulls the moisture out of the air. I have been using it in the basement bedroom which was carpeted. I start it when I get home from work at night and it warms up the room enough that I haven't even had to have the heat on in that room. I turn it off when I go to sleep. The only thing I wish it were a tiny bit quieter or I would have given it five stars.
