Humidity reading waaaay off.

Bought this a month ago to replace my old unit. If it weren't for the humidity reading, this would get 5 stars. But the humidity reading is off by 10% or more. When i first powered the unit up, I set it to 60% thinking that should be good until it get warmer and more humid. But it ran continuously until the bucket shut off. I thought that was the default power up mode, which it may have been. But after emptying the bucket it kept drying away. Normally that would be good, but now my basement was in the low 40% RH range. I had to put my hygrometers (humidity meters) next to the dehumidifier until the unit shut off in the correct range. I used two meters just to make sure. They are both within 1% RH of each other.
But there are some good things. The top side exhaust is different, though I don't have a preference. The bucket is easy to remove and empty, and best of all, the unit detects when the bucket is reinstalled without any issues. I have not connected this to the drain, but that is next on the list.
I have this in my basement with a temperature range (so far) of 58-68 F, and the unit still dehumidifies. My old unit would be frozen up.
Unit is easy to move and lift. Handles are in a good location when lifting is needed.

Hiya, adrichi. It’s wonderful to hear how well your dehumidifier is working for your home and its outperforming your previous dehumidifier. Sorry to hear about the issue with the humidity read out. I recommend trying the following: After a few days when the Relative Humidity has declined, press the HUMIDITY “up” or “down” buttons to choose a value between 35% to 85%, so the room is kept at a comfortable humidity. Pressing the “up” or “down” buttons will change the humidity selection in 5% increments. After you have set the desired humidity, the readout will display the actual room humidity. If at any time you want to return to the CONTINUOUS Mode, pressing the HUMIDITY “down” button will lower the Relative Humidity through the 5% increments until the display reads CO. Excellent product, great value. Eliminated humidity & dampness in basement. Musty smell is gone!! Easy install to pump/outside drain. All of our appiances are Frigidaire, proven quality.
