I have only used it for about 1 month. I replaced another brand which provided little or no support regarding a continuing problem. At present, we are very pleased with the unit and its operation.

Does its job

Have only had this for few months now. Here are my observations. It seems well built and has good features. I first tested it out using the drain pan to check moisture reduction and set it for continuous for several days as per manual. It removed a full bucket in 12 hours. I then connected the drain and set it for 45% as usual. Now my basement is fairly dry and this should have no problems keeping the 1200 sq. ft. dry enough .The first con about this is it does not read current humidity, only set point. It is fairly noisy. Being in the basement it cannot be heard in the living area, but could be a concern if it is in the living space .My second concern is the unit runs almost continuously. There are short periods where the compressor will stop followed shortly by the fan. But they only stay off for 10-15 seconds and they are on again. As I said, my basement is already pretty dry, so I don't think this should be cycling on so often, as my 3 previous units were never on this long. With this constant cycling, not sure how long this unit will last.

Bought this unit a few months back and have been running it every since. Setting it to a particular RH is easy, and it seems to maintain that RH very well. The scary part is how much water it pulls from the air. If you don't have a drain, then prepare to empty the bucket quite often. I love the auto off feature when the bucket is full.

Bought the first unit a little more than a year ago for our basement. Shortly after the first year the condenser quit. Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty. Replacement was easy. The new one works great. It runs all of the time.

The supplier replaced the first unit free of charge when the first unit quit operating after 1 year. The 2nd unit to replace the first one of the same model went out after a year of use too. I know there are a lot of good reviews on this unit, but I don't have any reason to think the 3rd one will be any better. It is used to remove normal humidity in a 1200 sf basement in a ranch style home.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
