On my 5th and not one has lasted past warranty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I guess the quality of these dehumidifiers has declined in recent years as I have not had one of these last more than 2 yrs. I am now on my 5th one, with the most recent one stopped working after 8 months. They stop collecting water and end up with the EC error, which means the coils have either frozen, leaked or just quit working. Warranty is good, but quality of these are not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Short period of use before EC code pops up

Used to find Frigidaire brand was connected to reliability; not any more. FAD704DWD - might get around a year and a few months life out of them before they start freezing up and throwing the EC code. Compressor fails. Disappointing. Watch for Electrolux name as they apparently make this and other brands as well.

Works like a champ

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to replace the old dehumidifier bought in 2014. Compressor quit and only the fan would run continuously. Called Frigidaire as I had the extended warranty. Excellent customer service. Talked me through the mandatory trouble shooting wickets prior to authorizing a replacement unit. Received email confirmation of our phone call and notification when the new unit was to be shipped. New dehumidifier was sent via UPS the next day. Arrived in less than a week. Plugged it in and immediate results within the first couple of days. Ran continuously for the first few weeks until the humidity in the basement dropped from 70 percent to 47. Now the unit only runs when necessary. Would buy the same unit again if ever required. The dehumidifier works as advertised.

Piece of Junk

Have this in my basement and it worked OK until weather got in the upper 80s. Humidity % on dehumidifier reads 35% and it starts to make loud noises. Have a desktop guage that reads 55%. Only way it works properly is in continuous mode. I have to manually start and stop it. Tried to call for help and they were TOO BUSY to answer my call. What kind of customer service is that. At least take my number and call me back.

Lasted 16 months

This lasted 16 months before it just stopped dehumidifying. fan works and blows cold air. Filter was kept clean. I did not short cycle it. Grills kept clean. Water emptied regularly. and now it has to be taken to the recycle center. I'm not made of money. To have to buy another one after less than two years is not okay.

Buy Extended Warrenties!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the trim and finish. It removes water efficiently and quickly. I like the bucket design and controls. The filter placement and design could be improved. It runs too long and I’ve yet to have one that lasted more than 2 years. This is my third 70 pint Frigidaire. Other brands haven’t demonstrated durability either.
