Worked good for about a year

After a year it began ice build-up above the water bucket even though drain was hooked up to drain outside the unit. Have repeatedly shut down and re-started but cannot find the reason for it not working and getting the ice build up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Seems to be good but the true test will be in how long it remains a working unit. Purchased on 6-1-2016.

Quiet, efficent

This unit replaced a smaller unit (also Frigidare). The 1 drawback is operating cost. The fan runs all the time, even when the compressor is off. This increases the electric bill.

Hey the1john, thank you for choosing Frigidaire for your dehumidifying needs. In the review, you stated the fan is running all the time. This can happen when the dehumidifier is in the continuous mode. Try choosing a relative humidity setting and the appliance will cut off when it reaches that level. Page 5 of the Owner’s Manual for your model has more information about this. I hope this helped! Sincerely, Ruth

Very efficient

I have had unit about three months now. The unit keeps basement dry. Is am impressed with water capacity. However, removing water container and returning to unit is tricky.

Huntdl, I can understand how frustrating that can be! You should press the sides of the bucket gently inward to unclip the bucket from the unit. Pull on both sides evenly to remove from the housing. Remember to support the bucket on the bottom with your other hand when transporting to where you are going to empty it. Push the handle firmly to one side and pull the handle area out of the bucket. This allows the handle area to be removed and the inside of the bucket to be accessible for basic cleaning. I hope this helps! Cordially, Ruth

I bought it because it offers 5 year warranty. I have a quarter century long history of using dehumidifier. I had bought dehumidifiers of different brands in the past but none of them had longer working life than 4 years. I would like to see this one really last.

Reduce my Electric Bills

I bought two of these to keep the humidity of my house low so I could run my AC units at a higher temperature and save money. You don't feel hot when the humidity is 35-45%.
