Great for a basement with mildew problems

I bought this a little over two weeks ago. I set it up and ran it full bore for the first 72 hours as recommended. I emptied the canister, which holds about 1 3/4 gallons more than twice a day, when it was full. Afterwards I set the humidity level at what we considered a reasonable level and let the machine work as designed. We've had to empty the canister daily, the first few days the canister was full and the machine shut off as designed. Since the first few days, though, the settings we chose seem tp be just right since the canister is almost full each morning when I check it, but has not shut down.
Odors in the basement have completely disappeared. The mildew that we have fought for the last few years seems to have also finally ceased to give us a problem.
I haven't received my first utility bill after beginning use of the machine, but the humidistat seems to work in that the machine quit running from time to time as it reached the set level of humidity. So, I am hopeful that the electricity use will be minimal. That is the only question that I have that remains unanswered.
We are using the machine in a subterranean, air conditioned and heated basement with 8 foot ceilings and approximately 1600 square feet of space. The basement is open to the upstairs via a chase and stairway so there is some additional moist air that has to be dealt with by the dehumidifier and it seems to do a good job. Provided that the electrical usage doesn't send me into shock, I think I can heartily recommend this product.

Ordered this online and received it the other day. Since I turned it on, it has been pulling the moisture out of the air in buckets!! About every 12 hours, the unit is full. My last unit never pulled this much out.

I owned this dehumidifier less than a year. I read reviews and compared to other manufacturers and was totally impressed with this model. It was a little pricey in my opinion, but willing to pay the extra if it was going to prove itself! I did encounter a problem but was resolved immediately by Frigidaire. It has been working like a gem ever since.

Great dehumidifier! I have an unfinished 3/4 basement with a huge standup crawl space. This puppy pulls all the moisture from the air. It makes my basement a cool and dry, it feels great!
