Shuts off at least daily with "EC" error in display

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought to replace 9-year-old version which suddenly started popping the GFCI. I assume that insulation is failing on motor windings which is a common failure mode for electric motors. Expected new unit to operate trouble-free as with old unit. Instead, error code "EC" occurs at least daily. Tried calling but was on hold for 15 minutes until I ran out of time. I am working on sending it back. I can't recommend this unit.

Really pulls the water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement dehumidifier for a previous model. Frigidaire replaced the older one with this one for free due to a recall. Great service!!!
This thing pulls water like nothing from the air. The only knock I have is that the humidity sensor reading seems to be high by about 5%. Once I figured that out it isn't a big deal to reduce it to what I want it to be at and let this thing go to work.

Simple to operate, works smoothly and efficiently!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Frigidare 70 pint dehumidifier works smoothly and efficiently. It ‘s simple to operate; the auto off feature when the tank is full is great. It’s been operating everyday for last two weeks removing 2 to 3 gallons a day removing humidity and improving the air quality. I am allegoric to mold and the removal of humidity really helps keep mold under control. And does its job quietly! The only slight negative is the removing and replacing of the bucket is not as smooth and easy as I would have hoped for. I would recommend this to anyone thinking of an efficient dehumidifier.

Great until it wasn't

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in the summer humid mid-Atlantic and this unit worked great for us for just over 4 years. Then it stopped actually dehumidiiying - we deduced that it was the refrigeration works which was still under 5 year warranty and we did have the original purchase info (required). We contacted Frigidaire/Electrolux home support and they were great about facilitating sending us a new unit - which now works great. I would have rated 5 stars if not for the failure but basically works very well for us, keeps our basement from smelling musty.

Reliable and effective.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hooked this unit up in a large basement near the ocean where warm weather humidity is high. It drains to a basement floor drain, and operates unattended, keeping humidity level at 60%. This unit is very reliable thus far, but it is my third Frigidaire dehumidifier in six years, the other two having failed with control board problems. If the control circuit board were available from Frigidaire, these units could be repaired made to last much longer. Both of my failed units run mechanically, but they don’t know when to shut off or turn on, so I can’t leave them running. I hope this one lasts.

Works for Our Modular Home!

Since it will take a long time to fix everything we want, we needed a quick fix for the smell. This Frigidaire helps us a lot with the excessive moisture and odors! Definitely worth the investment.

So Far So Good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit approximately 3weeks ago and it has been working as advertised. So far no issues and it is extremely quiet. The unit is in a basement that is over 1000 sq. ft. and it is maintaining approximately 40 - 45% relative humidity.
