A very cool and dry experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Changed the environment in an 80 year old house. Company routinely comments on the cool dry inside air. Friends love it and have bought their own. The device is a quality of life issue. Makes for really good sleeping as well.

Keeps freezing up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this this past spring. I went to the basement to check on it today and it is a solid block of ice on the inside. It sets in a clean environment and the filter is checked regularly. I am NOT a happy camper at this point.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mark514, I can imagine how frustrating this has been for you!
The evaporator on the back of the dehumidifier is made up of coils that get very cold while the unit runs. The moist air from the room is drawn across those coils by the fan so that the humidity in the air condenses. If the air temperature is too cold, the condensation will freeze.
•You may want to unplug and turn the unit off for several hours.
•Turn a heat source on in the room as the temperature may have dropped below 41ºF.
•Move the unit to a higher location, since heat rises, and the floor would be the coldest area of the room.
•Raise the humidity % to a higher level as the unit may be working “too hard” for “too long” and needs to stabilize.
If you have any further questions, please reconnect directly to the CEC (Customer Engagement Center) at 706/860-4110. The hours for the CEC are 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday and Saturday 8am to 6pm Eastern. Or you can return the dehumidifier to the dealership you purchased it from for an exchange. Cordially, Ruth
