Would stop running once a day.Wee

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this unit 4 months ago based on customer ratings reviews. Almost every day, we had to go in the basement to unplug & restart it because it had stopped running with an "EC" code on it. Unacceptable! Contacted Frigidaire, sent in all of the needed paperwork & they sent us a new (but smaller) one as an exchange. So far the replacement one is running fine. Do not buy the 70 pint dehumidifier, it is a piece of junk!

Less than one year of function

Worked Great for two years and then died

Non-Working Humidity Control

I bought two of these units 17 months ago. Three months ago, one of the units quit working right and started freezing ice inside. After over a month and several phone calls, Frigidaire finally agreed to do a "buy back", so I bought this new unit to replace it with. When it arrived, I let it sit overnight in the location where it is to be used. Next morning I turned it on and set the humidity control to 55%. It ran for over 2 days and dropped the humidity level to 40% according to a calibrated hygrometer that is sitting within 2 feet of the unit which was still running the compressor. I then set the humidity control to 60% and after a few minutes, the unit shut off. After 2 more days, the hygrometer reading was 69% and the unit had not started again as it should have done. Since then, I have had to manually turn it on and off to try to maintain the desired humidity level. I will be calling Frigidaire again about this one and see if it can be repaired.

I have only been running this for two months but so far everything seems to be working well. Hooked it up to a fifteen foot hose to run continuously into a floor drain. So far no problems.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do Not Buy

Purch 2 in Jan to stop condensation. Put 12" in front of 2 windows. Didn't help. Very noisy. No real diff between lo and hi speed. Side by side in same room, they read diff humidity. So, not used a lot. After 1 mo, 1 doesn't work. Motor runs, but no water collected. Ran both overnite, 1 full, 1 empty. Rtnd to HD for cr.

poor quality control

I have one 70 Pint Capacity Dehumidifier which every part work fine, compressor work like first day, humidity indicator work fine, when I adjust humidity more than what it shows, its fan stop after some minute and when I adjust humidity less than what it shows start working continuously but there is no water in tank even in bath room with hot shower! I notice that the efficiency of this machine decrease year by year so been curious to find out the reason.It was not so hard, by some water and hand soap I find some leakage on condenser pipe (I can not upload picture), so I understand why they have too many replacement some after very short time and some after some years, if you was lucky and your leakage is more than your guaranty period you will receive a replacement other wise if you are not lucky enough like me, your machine lose its efficiency after guaranty period and you will have a zero efficiency machine which work well!!! It is clear that the leakage problem continues even when machine not in operation and placed in store for next working season. Hopefully they do not use any fereon (R12) in this machine to damage OZONE layer but I am sure there is side effects of R410a Refrigerant which will be discover in future! If they make some more leakage quality control then both of customer-producer will be happy in long term deal.I hope some responsible read this and solve products issue.
