Poor quality, but supported well

This is the second Frigidaire dehumidifier I have purchased. The first one lasted about 1.5 years. This one lasted less than 6 months. Thankfully, if within the yearlong warranty period, Frigidaire stands behind the product and will buy it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really good dehumidifier\

We own a modest sized house with a full basement. We did not think we had a moisture issue for 37 years until this past summer when we did an energy audit and closed up the house making it a lot tighter. We had always hung our laundry to dry down in the basement, but now because the house was far better sealed up, moisture from the damp clothes was creating a danger of developing mold in the basement.
We studied various de humidifiers and read a lot of reviews and found that the 70 pint Frididaire was well reviewed and was of a size that we calculated would to the job for us.
When it arrived we followed the directions and ran it continuously for several days while monitoring a humiditiy guage we bought for the purpose. We were peaked at over 90% humidity when we started the de humidifier, and that dropped to 70% within just a few hours. The humidity continued to go down and we emptied the basin twice a day. The de humidifier was amazingly quiet, we could not hear it from upstairs at all.
After a few days we set the de humidifier to 50% and watched to see if it could achieve that. It DID, within another several days. So we set it down to 40%, and it drew down the humidity to that level too!
We could now hang our laundry in the basement again, if the weather did not permit hanging it outside, and the de humidifier can handle the situation.
Really pleased with it's performance, and the design of the water basin makes it easy to remove and replace.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Dehumidfier

The dehumidifier worked for about a month and then the capacitor blew. I called the company and they reimbursed me for the repair. I'm not sure why it blew in the first placed so I'm not willing to assign blame to Frigidaire. It could have had to do with my wiring or voltage or something, but they did fully stand behind the product.

Sensor Issues

I had sensor issues after using this for about 3 months intermittently. Seemed to work well when it did work.
The engineering design could probably use more robust sensors or allow the user to remove the sensor and clean it or just buy sensor replacement.
Frigidaire refunded the whole amount, but I feel bad about throwing away the whole thing just because a humidity sensor malfunctioned.
The Industrial design is good. Easy to change water.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the best and easiest to use dehumidifier I have owned. I especially like the drainage hose connection that does not require the use of the collector bucket. Nice feature!
The only 2 suggestions that I have are:
1. The collector bucket is hard to take out when it is full, unless you take ahold of it in just the places.
2. Separate indicator for the humidity level it is set at and the room humidity level would be nice. The dual purpose indicator works, but is confusing to others in my household - they are never sure which they are reading.

I bought 2 of them over the summer. I love them but unfortunately one developed a leak from the bottom. I was very pleased w/ how Frigidaire handled the problem - they were unable to replace my broken one so they bought it back. I wish they could of found me another as I truly find their humidifiers the best I have ever used.

Great dehumidifier

Easy to carry arround, powerful and reliable. No complaints so far. The only complaint is that the external drain requires an adaptor that is not included in the original shipment and should be. Also the adaptor could use a better design. I'm very happy with the performance of the unit though.
