Gets the humidity out!

This unit is a replacement of another model that died under warranty (4 years, 7 months on a 5 year warranty). It is quieter and seems to run more efficiently. I have it plumbed so the water goes directly out of the house. I am very happy with this unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Effective but noisy. Newer model is much better.

It's done a great job drying up my damp basement. I can't believe how much water it's wrung out of the air! On the down side, it makes a high-pitched tinny noise which would be unbearable in living areas. I just bought a second Frigidaire humidifier, the newer model FFAD5033R1. It is just as effective SO MUCH quieter. I would strongly recommend getting the newer model instead.

Not such a good buy

Bought this June 8, 2014. June 19, 2015 realized that something was wrong. Went to pull filter to clean it and found a lot of ice, several inches high and thick and could not remove the filter. Let it thaw. Dried everything. Restarted it, checked today, June 21st and the same thing had happened again. Just out of warranty, so l will try through my charge card (which honors an extra year warranty) to either have repaired or get reimbursed for the price paid. Have to get a repair estimate (which will cost me) before I can submit a claim. It's summer and I can't go without a dehumidifier, so I bought another brand today. I had liked this dehumidifier because of its Energy Star Rating, but I'm sure my electric bill will suffer because of its failure.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

needs humidity sensor relocated

same model in service from 6-2010 to 5-2014 worked fine....however this model ,mfg. in china 11=2013 has a short cycle issue..(humidity level set at 50 ,in a 900 sq ft finished enclosed basement room)...summer time, condenser on 8 minutes ,fan on 5 minutes ,unit off for 3 SECONDS ....and it continues to recycle..By running a fan in front of unit, thereby presenting the room air to the humidity sensor ,cycle now is: condenser run 30 min, fan continues to run 5 min. and OFF TIME 50min...suggest engineering somehow isolating the humidity sensor from the inside box rapid humidity level changes..PS don't call me ,I am retired, I would like to replace this unit with a moor efficient one. common sense says the condenser cutting in every 13 MINUTES dos not equal longevity .....

Efficient

During the winter my house's humidity was very high because the temperature outside was cool but humid. This meant that our AC or heater never ran and our house felt damp. This humidifier cleared the humidity out of the whole house (about 1700 sq. ft.). I wish that I would have bought it years ago. I did a lot of research before buying this model and I'm very please with my choice.

Life saver!

It has rained almost non-stop for several months where I live in Texas. The humidity levels range 85-100% almost constantly. We purchased one of these units, and were so pleased with it that we purchased another one. They have kept the humidity levels in our home down to breathable levels. It us unbelievable how many gallons of water we dump every day out if the air in our house. Great, great units. Would definitely buy again.
