Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this less than a month ago and have been amazed by the amount of water it's removing from the air. The only drawback is the heat it generates. We're using this in a living space, not a basement, so it tends to warm up the area.

Really, really loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While it does an adequate job at removing moisture, I could never recommend it and we are looking to replace it because it is absurdly loud. We have a try level, with an additional basement, and you can hear this unit while on the top floor, essentially 3 levels above. That's loud! We have tried repositioning the unit and nothing helps.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comparing to competition

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had a Friedrich unit for just over a year but auto pump failed ...so purchased this highly rated unit as a replacement. Using gravity drain into a standalone condensate pump. So far so good. We use this to dehumidify a 3200 sq ft house (no basement). Considering costs of standard whole house units, this is a good option pending system life, etc. Purchased 2 yr warranty as well. So...runs quieter than Friedrich.

It's easy to set the % you want, and the bucket design is good. I empty it every day, and I appreciate the handle for carrying it to the sink. Well-designed product (not the first one I've owned).
