[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product to reduce the humidity in my basement. It had a sort of pre mildew scent. As I suspected, there was lots of moisture but the dehumidifier has worked remarkably well. The area smells great now!

OK but noisy

My newly purchased (July 2019) Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier is doing its job in our basement. Fortunately, it is in the basement because when the fan runs it is very noisy. Sounds as though the fan blades are hitting some part of the plastic housing that surrounds the fan. I previously had a Frigidaire dehumidifier about 5 years ago and it only lasted for 2 years so I am not hopeful that the current model will fare any better in the longer run.

Since I have been using it, the musty smell no longer lingers.
I also like the self draining system using a hose.
I made a good choice .
