Most reliable dehumidifier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier. My first lasted well over 6 years with no issues. I use it in my basement and it kept moiture at bay through many humid summers. I highly recommend this unit.

So Far, So Good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this unit to replace a competitors Hisense, unit that failed and self destructed after about 2 years of use when the fan disintegrated rendering the unit unusable. I tried to purchase a new fan blade but was told that parts were unavailable and that these units were considered disposable when problems arose, as were most products being manufactured overseas (China). I stopped in at the local appliance dealer and purchased this unit reluctantly after finding out that it was also made in China, but needed a replacement to prevent moisture problems in the basement. It has been running without problems so far for the short (one month) period of time I have had it. It runs quietly and has kept the humidity at the correct level to prevent problems in the area where it is being used. This unit has no capacity to pump the condensate out, the previous unit did, but I find that to be a plus, since that was one of the first parts on the previous unit to fail. I had purchased a standalone condensate pump for the earlier unit and have this new unit draining into that, where it gets pumped to a drain. I am hoping that even though this was manufactured off shore, this unit will last longer than a season or two. Time will tell! The only thing that I find problematic, is that you need to pull the condensate bucket out of the unit when the air filter needs to be cleaned. Would have been better if the filter was accessible from out side and not requiring parts to be removed for the simple act of cleaning. I do like the indicator light that turns on when the filter needs to be cleaned after a set period of unit run time has passed. A three level fan speed would have been a nice feature also.

Waiting to See

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second of this model, a replacement. So far working fine. But the first one the condenser went just after a year and sprayed oil all over the water catchment bin. So remaining wary, waiting to see if this one holds up better. Meanwhile is effective and quick and bringing RH levels down.
