New User for Frigidaire brand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Frigidaire dehumidifier about 2 months ago for use in the basement of our new house to keep the humidity down for newly installed hardwood floors.
Having used another brand of dehumidifier in the basement of our other house, I was familiar with the amount of moisture a dehumidifier could pull out of the air--some days 2 gallons or more. For this house I have it set at 50% RH and we have a hose which drains into a unit and pumps out with the AC condensation.
I purchased a Frigidaire this time, based on the recommendation of our local appliance store and the positive online reviews. My main considerations were energy efficiency and reliability. I am waiting for my first electric bill to see how energy efficient this unit is. It runs relatively quiet and the fan runs all the time when power is on.

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dehumidifier for my basement to remove the dampness from my finished side. I already had one but needed an additional one due to the size of the area. It has a timer but not one that is helpful. It would be better if the timer could be set to turn the machine on for a certain number of hours, shut off and then come back on. Say if it would run for 3 hours, shut off for 3 hours then repeat every 3 hours.

Good Dehumidifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this dehumidifier about a month ago. It pulls a lot of humidity out of our basement. A full bucket every 2 days when maintaining 45% RH. Satisfied with this dehumidifier thus far.

Bone Dry in humid Maryland summer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great. 900 sq ft finished basement became bone dry in a day or so running it in 'continuous' mode. We now keep the humidity level at a comfortable 50%, emptying a full (2 gal) bucket about once a day. It is a bit loud, as was expected, so we keep it in the laundry room adjacent to our family room with a door open between the rooms to cut down on the noise a bit. The unit still keeps the whole floor level dry, running almost all the time. We may run a drain hose into the laundry sink, but haven't done so yet. Very happy with the change to the basement environment!
