We've had to use a dehumidifier for the past 5 years. We've purchased units from big box stores, major online retailers and retailers who specifically cater to solving humidity problems. All have failed from anywhere from a few months to 2 years.
We've been using the Frigidaire practically everyday for the last 3 months. It does a more than adequate job of removing humidity from our house and hasn't shown any signs of any diminishing capacity. It's easy to maintain and we haven't noticed any spikes in our electric bills. If we can get a few years of service from this unit then I would consider it as money well-spent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This unit is easy to set up and the controls are intuitive. I attached a drain hose and ran it into the floor drain. The design of this unit makes it very easy to do this. No cutting or drilling is required as is the case on some other brands I have owned.
I am very pleased with this product.

so far it's working better than my old dehumidifier that wasn't working :) I would say that it isn't super quiet but it's not too noisy compared to some I've heard. Puts out a lot of heat which is typical for these things. My only real complaint and maybe this isn't a big deal, but it seems to ask to have the filter cleaned a lot. I'm guessing it's just set to an automatic time interval. It hasn't looked dirty to me when I've gone to clean it so maybe I can ignore it every other time. That's about all I can say about this. Hopefully I'll still be happy with it in two years, ten years, etc.

The only down side is the unit never seems to shut off completely. This tends to be annoying. It should shut off for a period of time once humidity level is satisfied.
