Nice, but has real design flaw

I bought this unit to remove moisture from my house so I would feel better. Having significant joint issues, humidity can be a real problem.
And it does that beautifully. I have it next to a pedestal sink so it's easy to empty the tank (no real way to use a hose to drain it).
And therein lies the problem.
While this unit pulls a tremendous amount of moisture, the tank has two very serious design flaws.
First, the handle gets easily stuck. And you can't get it out. I've had this happen twice now, and this second time may mean breaking the tank trying to get it out.
Second. The same handle will disengage from the tank. And that means water everywhere if you're not lucky.
Those two issues are enough that I can't recommend this unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My place isn't moldy anymore!

My only complaint is that it's a little louder than one I had purchased in Spain - that one is still working, but I'm no longer in Spain! I live in the basement apartment of an old building and my place is super humid. It definitely kicks butt sucking out all the water of the air, I just wish I had gone one size smaller, or at least that it made a little less noise. I have to close my door to my bedroom at night. Besides that it's a fabulous product and I'm a happy camper!

Whining!

The dehumidifier makes a high pitching whining noise that is truly annoying If I turn it off and then turn it on in 30 seconds, it stops whining, then starts agai. Not a good bet for long time use I will try to return it.
