Beautiful with excellent ergonomics

This is an attractive appliance inside and out, something that guests have commented on when visiting our home. After using the refrigerator for 2 months we are even more impressed by its design and functionality. It has made us more productive in the kitchen, mainly because it is so easy to store and find food (layout, lighting, adjustable shelves, etc.). The air and water filters seem to do their job, most notably the water filter, but are 2x-3x more expensive than they should be (shop around). As others have noted the ice storage is small, but for us this is an advantage because the ice is always fresh and without odor (small size also opens up space for door storage of condiments). The center produce drawer is narrow, but still useful for citrus or small vegetables. The wide lower drawer is nice for storage, but accessing it requires that both refrigerator doors be opened. Pulling the refrigerator out for cleaning requires that the leveling legs be raised, so it must be leveled each time (at this price point this should be easier to do). The refrigerator is quiet and fingerprints and smudges clean up easily. Aside from a few minor issues, this is an excellent product!
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought this refrigerator and the compressor went out within 2 years. They charged us around $600 to fix it and didn't offer any sort of solution to make right as this was basically a brand new refrigerator.

Fancy but low quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have this fridge for less than 2 years and all of sudden it wasn't cooling. We called the authorized LG repair technician and he said it was due to faulty Compressor which is known issue. He said we will need to replace compressor and evaporator. The parts are covered by warranty but the labor charges are not and he said it'll take 4-5 hours to change and charges 1k. If LG was aware of their compressor issue and should be covering the labor charges as well for the fridge that's less than 2 years old.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use

Terrible fridge, truly a lemon

We bought one of these refrigerators in early 2015. It's now 2019, roughly four years later. The fridge is falling apart, and I swear I will never buy another LG appliance again. The plastic trim is very brittle and breaks easily, and has been replaced multiple times. We have also had mechanical issues with the refrigerator, where it has quit cooling. I miss the good old days when a refrigerator would last 10-20 years or more. Apparently now they are disposable after a couple of years. Save your money and buy something else.

DRAWER FAILURE IN< 2 YEARS, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
on August 17, 2019
Posted by: franklin99
After purchasing this refrigerator less than 2 years ago, one of the drawers fell apart. We called LG directly about the problem, were told they were very sorry, that this should not be happening, and that we would be sent a new part within in 5-10 days. We waited for almost 3 weeks, but no part arrived. We called back to be told that they decided to not replace the part since the drawer did not fall apart in the first year after purchase. We certainly would not have bought a refrigerator, especially a fairly expensive one, if we knew that it would have problems in this short amount of time. The customer service department displayed no concern about this quality issue, and similarly was not worried about their not following through on the company's original promise to us to replace the part.
Interestingly, we purchased three other kitchen appliances at the same time as buying this unit. The dishwasher has required repair three times in this same less than two-year timespan.

Never buying LG again. This was 1 of 4 new LG kitchen appliances I bought. Stove lasted 2 years and now this fridge made it to 3 years. Cant keep anything cold and smart diagnostic says nothing is wrong. CLEARLY something is wrong.

best among counter depth models

Decent space for a counter depth fridge. The control panel could be little confusing initially. Other than that for someone whose kitchen is small but need a spacious slim refrigerator, this would be it. Fruits and vegetable stay fresh/crispy longer than my previous refrigerator.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design

Very quiet and well made product

Can't believe how quietly this runs! The interior lighting is very bright. I was concerned that the small ice storage would be a problem, but it fills really quickly and we have not used the extra ice storage tray. Biggest drawback is the small drawers for veggies and fruit. Cannot even fit a bunch of celery or a large lettuce or cabbage in them. The freezer storage is also challenging, as expected. Just more difficult to unearth foods. Overall we are very happy with the product.
