I love the silent and efficient linear compressor

In beautiful stainless steel, the refrig fits perfectly in our counter depth opening. I choose the LG line because of its innovative Linear Compressor, the only manufacturer to offer this new type of compressor. I like he ice-maker as it is entirely contained in the left door and just right for SF climate. Bottom freezer makes for more efficiency as cold air is on the bottom. Inside plenty of room and flexible arranged compartments. One strange thing is that the egg compartment with a plastic door-cover is too small for a standard egg carton, but maybe that compartment is not meant for eggs. All in all a great refrig that I recommend highly.

Best refrigerator on the market

This is the best refrigerator on the market. It is spacious with great storage areas, convenient compartments and attractive look. I am so happy with this refrigerator. The water and ice dispenser is very well engineered and the freezer section is exceptional.

Makes awful noise after a few months

Bought this fridge a few days before Thanksgiving, and it worked well enough until a few weeks ago, when some motor inside started making an awful racket on a relatively continuous basis. The noise grinds down to a purr when any of the doors is opened, and then grinds right back up to full ear-splitting level as soon as the door is shut. The noise will sometimes continue for more than an hour without abating, only to begin again if we open any of the doors. It's so loud that we can't have a conversation in the kitchen. None of this is even to mention what it started doing last week: frost and condensation are building up on the outside of the door that houses the ice maker. We don't even have water hooked up to our fridge, so there's no ice in that compartment.
Upon calling for service (this model comes with a one-year warranty, which is still in effect for us), they diagnosed the issue based on my description of the symptoms and said that it definitely needs a technician to service it. Then they informed me that my address is outside their 50-mile service area, and I must wait up to three days for someone to call me back with more info. I live exactly 33 miles north of Boston. Don't they service anyone in Boston? Buyer beware. And, warranty holder, get thee an additional protection plan from your appliance store!! Crossing my fingers that LG proves good to their word and calls back/fixes this beast!

I'm loving this new fridge. Had avoided french door units because of the ice and water not being in the door or that the ice/water unit took up to much space inside. I'm very happy. Wasn't sure I would love the bottom freezer but I'm finding it very easy to deal with.
All in all Im very happy with this purchase.

Nice looking, bright and roomy

Have had the fridge a month. Like others, I did a lot of research before purchasing. It is roomy, bright and quiet. I like that side of fridge accommodates magnets. It is counter depth but has ample storage space. I initially made extra ice thinking there would not be enough because of other reviews but I have had plenty. I agree the produce bins are a bit small. A big head of cauliflower or broccoli usually ends up in the main fridge compartment. I wish the freezer drawer pulled out further so it would be easier to get to items in bottom of the compartment. I also wish door was smudgeproof. I am very happy with my new fridge and glad I made the purchase.

We,be had this counter depth fridge for two months now and overall love it. The only issues we've had are a bit of frost periodically in the freezer and the fact that we wish the handle on the inside the freezer pull drawer was oriented the opposite way. Currently it's the opposite of all the other drawers in the fridge. We have had no problems at all with it and it is very quiet - and I'm an audio engineer who is very sensitive to annoying and/or loud noises. Before you buy make sure you can live with the smaller cubic foot capacity when compared to full sized fridges. We highly recommend this model.

Just remodeled our kitchen. The LG counter depth refrigerator met our needs in size and quality. There are only 2 of us since our kids have grown up so a counter depth was adequate capacity. If we had kids at home we would have gone larger.
