Awesome speaker

This speaker sounds amazing and works very well. Holds a good charge. Only complaint is the flimsiness of the charger. Doesn't keep a snug fit with the outlet.

Great Bluetooth speaker with one glaring exception

I bought my first Bose SoundLink Color speaker about a month ago upon the recommendation of a friend. I liked it so much I bought a second one to place on the opposite side of the room thinking I could get a more omni-directional sound experience when played through my iPhone. The second unit arrived today and I quickly learned that what I sought to achieve was impossible. Color me naive but I expected the iPhone to pair with both speakers simultaneously. Nothing I read about this speaker indicated otherwise. Instead, the speakers seem to have the ability to communicate with each other and one speaker turns off when the other is turned on. Why did Bose do this? I wasn't expecting stereo - just the same monaural sound coming from different sides of the room. Other Bluetooth speakers are available that not only work together, but in Stereo! I wanted to give this speaker 5 stars for its overall excellence and 1 star because I couldn't get two of them to work together so I settled on the 3.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. With Bluetooth audio streaming, that technology does use a one to one connection between the source and the speaker.

We can understand the confusion with all of the different types of technologies out there for wireless. Home wifi is the solution for a multiple speaker set up. Our SoundTouch speakers, such as the 10 which is smaller like this one, would be the way to go.

Received for my birthday, 6 months later it's dead

I received this from my father for my birthday last June. We loved it. My wife and daughter could listen to music, I used it when traveling in hotel rooms, great little device.
A few weeks ago, though, it stopped turning on and appears to be dead and not charging.
I would definitely expect a product at this price-point to last a little longer than 6 months.

We'd be disappointed too. The SoundLink Color ought to be providing you years of service.

The fix might be as simple as a reset. To do so, Please connect it to the power supply, turn the speaker on and press and hold the AUX and Volume - buttons for 10-20 seconds, until a tone is heard. Turn the speaker on and verify your language selection. It should now be working properly.

Works great when it's on

I got the speaker a few months ago for a present and it worked good for the first month or so then it started to go down hill the on off button won't work so you have to plug it in to turn it on and it does not hold charge that long. Maybe 1-2 hours very disappointed with the speaker

Love it until it died

Husband purchased it for me as a Christmas gift last year. I absolutely loved it. I even purchased one for a family member as a gift. Last month I went to charge it and the charger is no longer connecting to the speaker. Very disappointed. Sad thing is, I am probably going to cave and buy another one because of how great the sound is. Just didn't last as long as I hoped.

Battery

I am not pleased with how long the battery lasted. I really was hoping for a nice speaker that lasted long. It says 8 hours and I'm lucky if I got an hour under a full charge.

Doesn't work well with Windows 7 bluetooth

I've searched the Bose site for some driver information, however Windows 7 treats this speaker as headphones and chokes the volume at 50% if you use it with bluetooth.
If you want to be limited to a wire, the speaker has good volumn and clarity

HAPPY no longer

A wonderful present from my son....but it lasted about 1 year. Turned on would not keep the battery charge. After several attempts at recharging, it blinked on and off until it finally went dead. IPad (new) was able to connect at first, when connection failed IPad was able to connect to other Bluetooth devices. Also IPhone was unable to connect to Bose speaker.

1. Let's try an alternate cable. The charging connection that this speaker uses is popular with non-Apple phones/tablets as well as many digital cameras.
