My sister bought this printer for me because I need a printer that will print on CDs like my HP Photosmart used to do. When that printer quit working they do not have a replacement so therefore I must switch to Canon. I must say, after reading all these reviews I am very nervous about the quality of this Canon. At this point, all I can do is try, but after hooking up the power cord, the first message I get is an error (it says the feeder cover is open, but I have opened and closed everything I can so far). I will disconnect it and try again. I really don't want to have to call tech support and be on the phone forever. Wish me luck or I will be stuck with a non-working printer II can't return at this point and hopefully not a "million" hours trying to get it to work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It takes for ever to print on black and white paper
it uses a lot of very expensive ink

Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, Low Quality Output, unreliable

I purchased this printer 2 months ago. It advertised as a all-in-one but to use the scan function you have to purchase more software. This is not shown anywhere, only when you try to scan from your computer.

Bought this printer because I needed the funcationality PLUS the great photo printing. It totally delivered...for exactly 1 year and a week. Actually was only using the printer for about 9 months, because I didn't install it right away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this model printer, I can't speak for all of the Canon printers, but this is a great printer, always works and performs.

Reliable and prints beautiful photos

I have had my unit for over 10 years. My mx922 still prints like a champ. Many complaints about this unit sounds typical of people who don’t understand the settings and how to use a quality printer. They’re lazy and want everything done for them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

like I just lost 20 more IQ points. Includes a CD for installation--on my month old computer--that didn't come with a CD drive; and trying to find out how to install things without CD impossible. No decent explanation for how to connect to WiFi--although web search made it clear that some of us figured out how to do it despite Canon's directions. Would I buy it again? Tell you later if I ever get it working.
Cons: Difficult Setup, inadequate setup instructionss
