Had it since new for less than a 1 - 1/2 years and used about 1000 pages and 3 full ink swaps over its lifetime and it finally decided to print blank pages. Tried cleaning the printer head with no luck. Can hear it trying to print and ink is being consumed but no being put on the paper, where it goes who knows. Time to get a New Brother Laser printer maybe better luck.....

Doesn’t feed paper properly

It’s giving me the same problem over and over again. It doesn’t feed the paper properly. It’s frustrating. I’ve had enough of this printer and such a waste of money.

After ~2 years of light use got a B200 error. Was able to extend the life you another ~2 years by manually cleaning the print head, fiddling with the ink cartridges, etc., but it eventually died. Scanner inexplicably had a black vertical line on the images if scanned from the doc feeder instead of the flatbed. Archaic and unreliable software to control scanner from Mac. Takes a very long time from power on to ready, and sometimes takes and inexplicably long time to power off (and at one point was just refusing to power off).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible printer.

I’ve had this printer for about 2 years and has only caused an abundance of problems. The ink runs out in less than a month. You can’t even print without having all ink cartridges full. I’ve spent over $500 on all ink for a horrible printer. I will never buy or recommend this printer to anyone.

not a great printer. slow, unreliable, poor interface for errors

at the time this was the best printer available; i wanted to get one that would last a while. it's multi featured but executes poorly on all features. the fax doesn't work, the scan is slow, the print is slow and uses a lot of ink. to print a simple 1 page can take me up to 10min to work out the errors and have to retry. I hate printers in general and this printer is one of the reasons why.

Excellent Office printer

I use this printer for a restaurant printing many daily, weekly and monthly reports, but the printer also does a superb job of printing graphics. From menus to flyers to catering booklets and more. It also does a more than credible job printing photos and the Xtra tray for photos makes this job a snap. Speed through USB is excellent and pretty good over my broadband WiFi. Ink usage is also great especially with the duplexer.
Quality of text is super. Overall a great office printer.

Nothing But Problems

I have had nothing but problems with this printer from the first day of use. Error messages that do not resolve by trouble shooting. Buttons that do not respond with actions they are designated for.
Cons: Difficult to use, Difficult Setup, unreliable

Noisy and slow

I had this printer for a bit less than a year. It took forever to warm up and print, the paper trays were flimsy and it just didn't live up to the usual Canon reputation.
I wouldn't recommend this printer to anyone.
Pros: Easy Setup, Small Footprint
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Flimsy Construction, noisy
