Great photos and more

Purchased to help with all my home office printing needs but also wanted to be able to print photos without the hassle of changing trays or manual feeds. The MX922 has filled this need well. The photo prints are much better than my drug store photos and we can print and share on a whim. The ADF with auto duplex is awesome and feeds correctly without jams. The main paper tray is easy to refill and replace into the printer. LCD display is clean and easy to use. I am very satisfied with this purchase. For those of you who fax, this works very well. If you have an answering machine, just remember to connect it to the printer and connect the main line to the printer directly. The FAQ's are very helpful if you run into a bump along the way and Canon answered any email I sent within 8-20 hours.

Does a lot well....

I like many of the features of this copier scanner but the printing aspects have given me headaches. This is my first Canon printer and I really looked forward to using it. I have had the printer going on its second year. It worked well. But you have to align and clean the heads often.
What I found is that it consumes a lot of ink and I am always struggling with loading the cartridges, I get 1680 and 1411 error codes.
The scanning and copy features work well but since this is a printer, I have to give the MX922 a low rating.

Very Disappointed
on March 7, 2015

I have been very satisfied with Canon printer/scanner performance for years. I just purchased the MX922 expecting that the good experience I had on the MX860 would continue. Unfortunately, this turned out to be wrong. Printing is good. but scanning is very difficult to do from the computer because of the software. It seems that Canon is unwilling to set up the MX922 to be used with MP Navigator. It was that product which made the older machine so effective and easy to use for scanning, particularly with the automatic document feeder. . I agree with another reviewer. "If you are a heavy scanner user and store in many different files stay well clear of this unit. If you only print it is a fine machine" .I am very disappointed in Canon.

Less quality than expected

This printer is not as good as the Series MX800 I replaced. I miss the rear feed that allowed any sized paper and allowed it to have a straight feed.

disaster

Out of the box, this is a disaster to install. The initial steps to activate the printer were exactly as indicated in the quick install guide. However, trying to get the printer to talk to my computer has been as disaster. Tried wireless connection and no success. Finally direct cable/USB and still no connect. Have installed the software X3. I will call customer assistance but have never had to do this for four previous wireless printers. What ever happened to "plug and play?""

This machine is very slow. It is constantly resetting itself. It is not the easiest design and there is constant trouble shooting.

DONT BUY

I bought this printer thinking I was getting a more updated faster machine. Well it is quite large, ink cartridges run out faster than I have ever experienced, and I don't print in color all the time either. It is so slow starting up and printing or copying. You can literally stand there for 5-7 minutes while it says please wait momentarily.... should say go have a cup of coffee and come back later. I plan on replacing this after not having it a year. Bad purchase and waste of money.
