No more canon printers for me.

lasted about 3 month; This printer was a replacement send from canon for a first gen mx892 with a well known faulty electrical supply.
Anyway, now this one is dead. First it was printerhead alignment issue which I keep cleaning and wasted nearly an entire set of cartridge, then it is the paper jam that I can't get it out. because there is no real access panel in the front like all your prior generator of printers.
I been using canon printer for over 15+ years; it's print when from exceptional to good to fair and last 2 were disaster.. and both break down right before my business presentation on the next day.
I will continue to buy canon imaging product, But for printers, this is the end.
Pros: Easy Setup, High Quality Output, easy to use, auto reverse feed, little extras features that no other printers had.
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, unreliable, Flimsy Construction, non removable printer heads
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Machine

I am finding this printer to be a really good product. Setup was a snap... you just run the CD. The only fault is that using some of the features is not as intuitive as I would like but, once you learn, it's a piece of cake. I REALLY like the wireless printing. I have two computers and they are both set up to print wirelessly.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, High Quality Output, fast print speed, wireless printing
Cons: not very intuitive

Won't stay connected to WiFi

Had this printer for about a year and my biggest complaint is that it will not stay connected to my WiFi network and the router is across the room. When trying to print from my iPad I have to reconnect the network about every other time, very annoying!!!
Pros: Easy Setup, Small Footprint, easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed, unreliable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fantastic Printer

Have had this printer for 6 months and it works great... Many people complain about it dropping off the network and I finally found the solution. There are certain ports that must be opened for using a canon printer. Suggest they contact canon as I did and get the port numbers and contact their router manufacturer. Since I did this the printer has not dropped off the network once. The set up is very easy if people would follow the instruction sheet that comes with the printer... took me less than 10 minutes...Prints a fantastic 4x6 in a minute or less...
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: uses ink quickly...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Outstanding printer!

My 10-year-old printer had been producing less-than-satisfactory output lately, with banding and missing text on the margins. My needs also expanded to what an all-in-one printer provides, so I looked into PC Magazine's "The 10 Best Multifunction Printers" from June 27, 2013. After considering the choices, I narrowed my pick down to the MX922. I checked the reviews on various websites including this one, saw what I liked, and I snagged one. The printer arrived, and after trying out all its functions, I am one VERY happy camper! I'm not real big on printing pictures, so I can't comment on its photo-printing capability. The print quality, however, is superb, and because I'm also not a heavy printer, the speed is fine for my needs and I don't find that it drinks ink like other reviewers claim. Sure, it makes some clicking sounds as it quickly warms up and after it prints, but so what? It is rather quiet for what it does. Sent faxes are very high quality, and the copy/scan abilities are superb. My suggestion? Grab one of these printers while you still can!
Pros: reliable, High Quality Output, easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed

Not a dual tray printer
on July 6, 2014

Would expect that the top of the line _OFFICE_ printer has two full trays. Not so. The 2nd one is for small form factor only. Wish the old MX870 did not break down.....
Print itself is speedy, after waiting a long time 'job' preparation.
Have used canon printers for ages, ordered them for family and friends, but not anymore I think.
Please make an _Office_ printer with full features and fast, no problem to pay a bit more for quality.
Pros: Easy Setup
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Flimsy Construction, no dual tray (full size)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Remains to be seen

I purchased a MX922 to replace an MX800 series printer that failed after just short of 2 years. I easily had the new one up and running on my WiFi with my Mac and iPad. Scanning works fine too.
In my opinion, the setup might be a little much for a rookie computer user though.
I stayed with Canon after the first failure because I am familiar with them, and the ease of setup for me. In addition, the print quality is very good.
I marked it down though, because of the weight.

Terrible printer
on January 3, 2015

This printer should be taken off the market. It won't print envelopes without taking paper from tray then guessing the envelope is inserted correctly. That is mild compared to trying to keep it connected to wifi. Right now I am unable to print because I can't get connected to WIFI. I've tried everything. I wish I had never purchased this printer, may just junk it and eat the cost.
