LOVE THIS PRINTER

I purchased this printer about 3-4 years ago & love it. Printing pictures are great whether it's connected by cable or through wifi. The only thing that is a big con is when the printer reaches a certain age, error 1403 comes up which is the printer head error. I replaced the printer head, but the error still won't go away. I've done research on & tried everything recommended and nothing. I ended up purchasing a new printer. Other than this issue, I haven't had any problems with it and I'm quit satisfied with the product.

The only instruction I found confusing was to print from an iPhone or iPad you select print from the iPhone or iPad not from the printer. But I googled for info that I needed. I am still trying to figure out how to select the paper trays that I want to use and I would like to print 3x5 photos and can't figure thar out but the photos that I have printed so far look beautiful! Must let them dry first though. It took a little work to get it to recognize my wifi so I had to manually enter that data then everything worked great.
Pros: reliable, durable, Small Footprint, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: Difficult Setup, didn't search and find my wi fi

Worst printer ever!

First printer was delivered with parts falling out. This printer is the slowest printer I have ever used. The ink vials are so smaall you are replacing every hundred sheets. Ink very expensive.
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Flimsy Construction, low ink capacity
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NO manuals/disc to setup machine or troubleshoot.

I am stuck.... Cannot trouble shoot "unable to print" as CANON does not supply any DISC or brochures... ALL ARE ON LINE...WHICH ARE OF NO USE WHEN I CANNOT PRIONT

Very good printer

Easy to set up except for alignment. The quick set up guide tells you to put in a test paper a certain way with the cut corner in a specific corner ( my test paper had no cut corners). Other than that it was a breeze
Pros: High Quality Output, easy to use
Cons: Large Footprint

Great Multifunction

I've had this printer for about seven months and have used all phases of its capabilities and had no problems. I found the set-up was easy following the fast start instructions. I've used it wirelessly with Air Print from my iPhone and iPad, and printed from my Mac Book Pro laptop (8.5x11 and regular envelopes), scanned and faxed. I have also printed in B&W and color. I have not found the ink use to be outside the norm for an inkjet printer. I had one issue come up with an error code. However, called support and got the problem solved right away (ink cartridge got loose next to the one I changed). My experience is not at all like some of the less then stellar reviews I've read. From my experience, for what it can do and its price point, it's a great printer!

Fax function doesn't work

The Fax function simply doesn't work. After purchasing the machine, I didn't need the fax (and mistakenly assumed it would work). But when I needed it, all it said was that every fax machine in the world was busy. I worked with Canon. They finally concluded that the unit was malfunctioning. They sent a replacement. After messing around with it (pulling necessary components out of first unit to place in second unit without complete instructions--how to remove a print head), the need to totally reinstall wireless print drivers, I finally got the printer function working. Next I try and the fax and now the same issue is reoccurring.
Pros: fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, Difficult Setup, fax nonfunctional

Good Printer

I agree with the other reviewers, the printing is slow to start through wireless; however, the scanning function works very fast and I love the color for photos. I thought it would fit in my printer compartment of my desk but no luck, when the front comes out for the paper eject it makes it to wide. Overall, I'm please with Canon printers. This is my third Canon multifunction in 15 years.
