A great printer for B200 support codes

I am actually shopping for another one and I'm fed up with these things dying like this without any explanation how to fix it. Tried all the tricks out there, but it's dumpster bound!

It seems to be a quality printer. I bought it to replace my mx860. It is faster and the color quality seems to be better
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Small Footprint, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great printer

The people giving this printer bad reviews must not have the same printer I have. The printer I have is a great device. never loses connection with my wireless network. I can print from every computer in my house (3 of them), my tablet, and my smartphone. The setup is dead simple, the printer always works when I want it to, and the quality of the printing is great. Sure the printing is kind of slow, but not to the point that it annoys me.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, paper tray!
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint
I would recommend this to a friend!

Grabs more than one page when printing
on January 28, 2014

I have been loyal to canon printers as I have liked the ease of use and the quality, however I recently had to replace my previous printer after 3 years, Canon Pixma mx700, because the scanner began imprinting a thick black line down the middle of my documents. I just purchased this printer and it is horrible, it is slow to print, constantly 'thinking' before printing. and now I am in the midst of tax season and when I attempt to print 1099s, putting even only 4 PAGES IN AT A TIME to the cassette, it grabs more than one page in the middle of the stack so that I end up wasting so many sheets of my tax forms. It prints half the info on one page and then half on another! So horrible, so wasteful, so frustrating to spend the money and the exhausting time to set up the software for this printer, and now I have to feed one tax form in at a time in order to avoid running out of sheets. The paper cassette is so flimsy too, canon has really sacrificed quality this time around.
Cons: grabs more than one sheet of paper when printing

Happy w/ MX922

After reading many negative reviews I was considering not buying the MX922. However I was able to get a really good deal so I decided to try it out. Am I glad I did!
The instructions were very clear and set up took minutes. There were no problems whatsoever. I tried printing a document and it took seconds for the printer to start printing.
Today I tried to scan a document and ran into a problem. I got an error message about the drivers. I went to the Canon web site and downloaded the newest driver. I tried and still it wasn't recognizing the printer.
I called Canon Support and got hooked up with John. He knew within seconds what the problem was: it was looking for the scanner via USB....I changed that to network and it worked fine. John continued to help me go thru some preferences that would help me in the future.
So in summary it is easy to set up, fast, and does a good job. Canon Support is fantastic and did a great job.
Pros: Easy Setup, fast print speed, easy to use, great technical support
I would recommend this to a friend!

Limited functionality
on July 29, 2014

Minus:
Replaced my broken Pixma 882 with the newer 992. Lots of features on the 882 are missing from the 992 like a rear loader for envelopes and forms. Printing on card stock is a challenge - the manual was no help until I discovered that setting the software options to "Photo Paper" helped. This is NOT a business oriented printer.
Plus:
Works well for plain paper, photos, copying and fax. Good image quality and relatively fast.
Pros: Easy Setup, High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, Large Footprint, limited flexibility for business use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HORRIBLE PURCHASE
on August 14, 2015

I bought this printer/scanner over a year ago and it has been the worst purchase I've made from Canon EVER. In the year and a half I have owned it, it has been used minimally yet has gone through a ton of ink and is now broken. The error message 1403 says that the "type of printer head is incorrect, Install the correct printer head." The printer head is the same printer head that it came with, and after doing my research, it seems I'm not the only one to deal with this issue. The solution? Buy a new printer! The cost of a new printer is almost equal what a new printer head would cost. The most frustrating part is that the scanner is utterly useless now as well, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the printer head, I can't get past the error message to use its other functions. It has completely rendered itself useless. And now I just have a huge (I've always hated its size) hunk of garbage taking up space, Sadly I won't be purchasing a canon printing product ever again, as this is my 3rd Canon printer and all of them have failed far before their time. Save your money on this one. Step up your printing products Canon, as a loyal purchaser of your products, I'm very disappointed with this one.

Agonizingly Slow

The printer seems to have a life of it's own, or maybe is possessed. It makes loud noises as it goes through many processes, preparing itself to print. It uses extraordinary amounts of ink as it seems to do a print head cleaning before every print job. I wish I could return it. If you need something printed fast, it will take even longer.
Pros: Easy Setup, High Quality Output
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
