Prints well but slow.

I am happy with the quality of the of the printer, but I have found it to be slow, contrary & not really user friendly or efficient. The interface (both the actual physical setup AND the system setup) is cumbersome and incredibly awkward to use. It is one of the easier printers I have used to print wirelessly & would give it @ least 4 stars for straightforward, simple & responsive pairing when sending a print job sent from any connected device (I print wirelessly from both a computer and from 2 differnet Android devices). All in all, though, I think I'll be choosing my next printer before this one is neccesarily ready for retirement and based more on avoiding what I DON'T like about this one, as the good qualities it DOES have are readily available from many other printers.

Really frustrationg

The printer is extremely slow. The unit is always processing something or other and it seemingly takes forever before it actually prints something. Will not buy again.

Cloud Print requires manual setting

An great inexpensive printer for WiFi printing, despite fairly expensive consumables. Not so good for Cloud Printing. The printer goes into a power saving mode that prevents Cloud Printing. Under Menu, Web Services, find the Cloud Print button and press it to allow the Cloud back into the printer.

Would not buy again

I've had this printer for about 4 years. The first issue I had was the wifi connection. It seems to have a very weak receiver. I had to buy a signal booster to get it to work properly. My previous HP printer did not require this. I also found the ink usage to be above normal and the cartridges were expensive comparatively. The printer has been used sparingly over the time I had it. Recently I got a error code 1403 for the print head. The suggested fix was to replace the cartridges and if that didn't work to clean the print heads. If that didn't work, replace the print heads. I tried the first 2 suggestions with no success so I wasted $50 or so on cartridges. I was not about to spend more funds on this clunker so I bought a new HP 3830 for $80. It works much better than the Pixma . This will be my last purchase of a Canon product.

Never had a problem

I have had this printer for long time, probably about 8 years. I have never had an issue with it and I love that I can buy generic ink for it. I dread the day it dies as I guess Canon doesn't make these anymore and the only ones left are out of my price range.

This Printer was a Great Workhorse for 4 Years

I was gifted this printer by chance 4 years ago to use for my business creating art prints. It has worked perfectly for me for the full time. Yes, it's a little noisy and can seem a little slow since it's always performing nozzle and alignment checks. But it has produced 10x100 professional quality 8x10s a week for 4 full years. The print head is finally shot so I'll be looking for a new printer. I would definitely buy this one again.

NOT recommended

I bought this from the factory a few years ago. I never used the supplied ink cartridges, because they are low volume. I always used the high capacity Canon cartridges. I ran out of ink (happens frequently) and could not get to the store, so I used the old ink that came with the printer. Since then, I frequently get a B200 error. I bought fresh ink, did not fix the code. I bought a new printhead, did not fix the code. Support website says to buy a new printer. Doing a search on the internet shows this is a common problem. Because of this, I would NOT recommend ANY Canon products.
