Worst purchase ever

I'm pretty sure if you look up pain in the butt, piece of dodo or anything along those lines it pulls this printer up! I have to fix it weekly! I fix it more than I use it!!! It frustrates me so much! It was the worst purchase of my life! It sucks ink like nobody's business!! I should have known when I had to exchange the first one after two days of having it! Easy to say I'm investing in a new printer pretty soon! And this one is going to the dump! I wouldn't even recommend that my worst enemy buy it!! I had to give it one star but If I could I would give it negative stars!!!!
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, Low Quality Output, unreliable, Flimsy Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Won't print

When the printer prints it does a good job but 90 percent of the print jobs sent to it will not print because it says there no paper in it. I am very frustrated since all Canon printers I have had in the past have been very reliable.

The worst printer I have ever had

Don't buy this piece of trash please! I am a photographer, I have been using Canon cameras, video cameras and products since 1995. I have always been happy with anything canon until I purchased this piece of pure junk. It stalls, it takes its time, it would drive you insane in the very moments you are in a rush to print important stuff and take forever... Money thrown out the window for the worst slowest nonsense printer I have ever experienced! What a disgrace to the name of CANON!

Pixma MX922...FAIL, FAIL, FAIL!

This Canon has Worst iPrinter and Wifi disaster of a relationship disaster ever. Ever.
Anytime a printer cannot remember the wifi connection and hold the password EVER to the point of it having to manually re-entered on the Printer Menu repeatedly EVERYDAY & multiples of times the SAME day = total fail.
A printer's job is to print. An iPrinter's job is to print - wirelessly. Successfully.
Not a Canon. Not this Canon iPrinter = due to the universally despised Code 300 - which is a wifi connect failure being reported. Basically this printer is disconnected by default - not connected.

Lousy Paper Handling
on July 3, 2016

I bought this printer as a replacement for my MX882. The store advertised it as a replacement for the MX882. It is not as its paper handling leaves a lot to be desired and is nowhere near as good as the MX882. I returned the MX922 and purchased a different printer. Additionally the scan software is not as good as the MP Navigator EX software that was a part of the MX882 software suite.

worst ever

I replaced two previous HP printers with this Cannon.. very bad mistake.. this printer keeps dropping my wifi signal for no reason from my router and Macbook Pro. The entire system then has to be reset up as though it's a new printer in order to be recognized by the laptop. No other printer or wireless item has ever done this.

Best printer I've owned

This printer replaces a top-of-the-line (Brand X) multifunction printer that used to be my favorite. When the (Brand X) croaked, after more than a decade of faithful service, we got the MX922.
Getting started: Setup was exceptionally easy for a networking printer. The setup instructions were simple and clear. The printer connected via WPS instantly, even though the router is upstairs at the other end of the house. Both the Windows 10 laptop and the Macbook Pro discovered the printer easily. Our iPhones printed to it as soon as we tried. One small negative: the CD setup program puts a ton of programs and the user manual onto your hard drive, and one of the helper programs wants to autostart every time the computer starts. This can easily be turned off in the program's settings menu.
Using it: Everything we've tried has worked well, and print speed is good. Print quality is good. The features list is impressive: automatic document feeder, copying, scanning (useful), faxing (not as useful these days), automatic duplex printing (when you need it), and a separate input tray/feeder for smaller media such as photo paper and printable CD / DVDs. As a bonus, this machine uses the same 250/251 ink cartridges as my wide-format iX6820 printer. This is a very common cartridge set and is widely available in retail stores and online.
Comment: This is a mature product that has been on the market for several years. On the various review sites, it was impressive to see that 90% of customers would recommend the product to friends. I'm not sure why the ratings on this Canon site are so low, but people with bad experiences are more likely to write reviews.
My background: more than 30 years of building, selling and networking computers, including a couple of years as documentation manager for a PC manufacturer.
Bottom line: This printer will probably make you smile, assuming you are reasonably good at following setup directions. We are completely satisfied with the machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

HELP!!!
on May 23, 2021

I bought the MX922 several years ago. I worked fantastic for about 3 years until the warranty was gone. I bought the same model again about 2 years ago. I've had nothing but trouble with it from day 1. It's like it is a totally different model. I takes forever to connect and print. It prints every line different - some look like a different font, some are bold. I've done everything - done alignment, printed patterns, put new ink cartridges in - done it all. No help. I wish I could return this piece of junk.
