I have purchased three of these so far and all are in use and functioning great. My wife has one in her office and uses the scanner and color printing frequently, my mother has two (in different rooms) and does scanning & printing in her office and printing & faxing in the family room. Prime features: ADF — can't say enough about how nice it is to have an ADF in a reasonably priced printer; setup at first power-on was extensive, but once done never has to be touched; great options for sending/receiving faxes; compact size.
My mother is frugal and runs paper through it that has already been printed on, typically by an inkjet but often by a laser printer. I've warned her that flecks of ink can mess up the internals, but she does it anyway. So far, no problems (fingers crossed).
Around my house, my wife does some photo scanning and the results are good (not excellent, but we're very happy with them once she has post-processed them). We also use it to print from our iPads and occasionally a friend has been visiting and wanted to print something — that was easy to do as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not Happy!

Over the years I have purchased a great deal of computer equipment. This printer (my personal #5) was chosen for the Canon name. They missed the boat on this model. You must remove the paper supply to print an envelope. It takes forever to copy or print one document.
It does NOT print to the edge of the paper. The trays and their slides are flimsy..

Worst printer to set up ever!!!!!!

To start with the Canon pixma 922 looks very nice. It took 30 minutes to get it to be recognized by my computer, an iMac 24" top of the line computer 2 years old. By now I would figure all wifi printers would be plug and play to speak. Even though the printer shows on my computer the software cd says it does not find a canon printer so I can't print any pictures. There is no manual with the printer just some instructions for setting it up.
I am sure if I spend hours scouring the internet and jumping through hoops I will eventually get this printer to work but ........really.

Bought this printer several years ago. The print quality os good but, it eats ink and the replacement cartridges are expensive. Another downside is once the ink runs out all features are locked out. You cannot even do something as simple as scan a document to your pc or send a fax with the report print out off. We have never been able to get the wireless option to work at all. Canon used to be good but this is the second different model of their multi functions printer we bought and we are extremely disappointed. Considering switching to a different brand.

Works like a printer

This printer performs exactly as you would expect. It does everything it needs to. Photos print exactly like how it appears digitally on screen.
The only downfall of this printer is that it will say it is low on ink when the cartridges are half full.. then it will say it is out of ink way before it actually runs out. This printer doesn't actually use excessive amounts of ink, but the programmed warnings are inaccurate.
I just keep using the cartridges until a certain color doesn't show up anymore, and then I replace it.
It does get annoying having to press "OK" on the pop up telling me i'm out of ink every single time I need to print something.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I curse the day

I curse the day the day I ever bought this printer and as soon as I use up the expensive ink, I'm throwing it in the trash. It makes a much noise as a broken down railroad car but far worse is the worst set of interfaces and "manual" I have ever found anywhere for any software or computer hardware. It's virtually impossible to get rid of the slow process of My Image Garden (for which I have NO use) opening every time you try to control the setting (so they can sell you more expensive paper and ink!). The scanner takes menus on menus on menus to set simple tasks (e.g., 2 sided scanning), it's difficult to even find the ink levels. I don't know who did the interface and the (hah-hah) manual and directions for this but I hope they have been fired long since.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
