When printer heads fail, entire machine inoperable. Scanner doesn't need ink.

5 years and going!

I've had my Pixma MX922 for 5 years and it's been a work horse. The quality is superb and the colors are true to my Photoshop settings. I also print shipping labels, my kid's homework, and often use it through the wifi in our home(not only the desktop computer) when printing from our phones and/or laptop. I can print on heavyweight photo canvas paper with great results as long as I enter in the correct 'feed' options. Not only is the hardware easy to set up, the software to run the printer/scanner/copier is user-friendly. I can also easily look up troubleshooting solutions on the website. The printer ink is ave. in cost as long as we print thoughtfully and choose the correct settings. Very happy with our purchase.

LOVE IT

Great !! I have had it for several years and it has outperformed anything Ive had before. It was connected to Century Link but now I have fiber optics and works even faster. I have it connected to two Mac computers and never a problem.
I print LOTS of photos and buy the XL ink tanks. Makes great double sided copies too with just loading it in the top. I scan pictures and documents for genealogy and also does a great job. This is for the MX922

I hate this machine

I have had this printer for about a year-and-a-half. It is by far the worst printer I have ever used. First of all it is very difficult to get the hang of using it. It takes forever to print a page. I had a paper jam today and I tried to remove it according to some instructions I found on internet. Now it's time to put the thing back together again and I can't get the back cover to engage the rest of the printer. So even though the error has been removed I cannot print. So I downloaded the manual at the manual will not print nor show because it says that I do not have the proper PayPal reader to open it and use it. So I am stuck. I am going to go back to HP because like one other reviewer said his HP is still going strong. I bought this because I needed to make copies and making copies in stores is highly expensive when you may need a hundred copies. The printer was cheap I should have known better when I bought it because anything price cheaply usually does not work well. I doubt if I will ever have to replace my HP black and white printer. I am going to invest in a HP Inkjet color printer. I had one of those for decades. My suggestion is if you have a lot of patience or you desire to have photocopies printed off on a printer this may work for you as Canon is known primarily for its cameras. But for printing the office of home I'll take the HP.

Worst printer ever created by Canon! Period

Slow, sluggish, buggy ... What else? Oh, yeah, it completely died on me today with an error 1403 indicating that my printhead is not correct... What? Saw a video from a guy who fixed this issue by smashing it to the ground so I did the same and bought Epson! Now I'm happy! It is so much faster and the proint quality is superior! Never again will I buy a Canon printer, ever !

I bought this 5+ years ago, and it just keeps on keeping on! Picture printing is unsurpassed, and the printer is very robust and reliable.

Best printer ever!

I searched long and hard for a printer that had all the features I needed. I found it in this printer. As a homeschool mom of 6 kids, I print A LOT and I needed it to work well from my phone.
I can buy cheap ink (sorry overpriced manufacturer ink!) so I really get my monies worth.
I especially like the wireless printing, double sided printing, the scan feature and most of all, that the ink tanks are all separate colors so I only replace ink that I actually use.
I had an error code one time that tech support was unable to assist me with but I was relentless and tried the opposite of what they suggested (reverse sequence of buttons to push) and it fixed it.
I have owned this printer for over 5 years and hope it lasts a LONG time. 5 years is already a long time for printers of today, honestly.

I've been Canon buyer of numerous gear over 15yrs. THIS printer is honestly the worst MF printer I've ever owned, I've had ~8 MF type printers for home or business. This printer has constant issues with Network connectivity for scanning especially. My BIGGEST gripe is the absolute horrible constant cleaning that runs every time I use it to print the first document when first turned on. This issue makes printing take forever as it sits there cleaning and cleaning for 2-3 minutes, THEN prints the document. As a result this thing burns thru ink like at an insane rate. I have also reinstalled the software numerous time and done all I can EXCEPT smash it on the ground. This is the worst review I have ever had to write on any product I think ever. Sorry Canon but this printer is a major pile.
