Absolute garbage. I'm a senior systems engineer with over 25 years in IT. This printer had easy life printing maybe 20 pages a month with my Boss, I started using it, printed 1000 pages in a few months and now it's dead. In the meantime, everytime you print it does god knows what. But it starts doing "Stuff" for a solid 3 mins then prints one page...next page, same thing. When it prints it's fast and clear...Seems like bad code and poor build quality. Today it just Error Coded 5c00 when looking it up it says thats an internal error get it serviced...Who is going to service a junk printer? The only service this is getting is the trash pickup service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do NOT Buy This One!

I believe in Canon and have been a faithful customer of their printers and cameras for many years; however, the Canon MX922 printer makes me question my judgment. I purchased the printer in December 2013. Setup was easy. The trouble started within a month of purchase. Sometimes it printed and sometimes it didn't ... no rhyme or reason. I studied the manual, realigned and cleaned print heads, etc. to no avail. I've spent way too much on inkjets (thanks to maintenance) with no result. The printer is noisier and slower than others I've owned. Currently, it prints blue, but no black, yellow, red. Other times all colors. Sometimes blurred black lines and sometimes everything works just right. As a writer, I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to be stuck with this printer. It was purchased brand new, in the box. Maybe mine is a lemon, but why take a chance? DO NOT BUY CANON MX922 PRINTER!
Pros: Easy Setup
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Low Quality Output, unreliable, unpredictable, poor print quality

Where is the printer.

I'm a long time home user of Canon printers. I loved them. This one gets lost. I install the software and drivers and it works fine for a day, then my computer can no longer "find" the printer and I must delete everything, load the s/w and start again.
Pros: High Quality Output
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Nightmare

I have a MX 850 that still works and I love it. This "step up" is beyond dismal. It isn't printing correctly. Everything is blue. I have uninstalled and re-installed twice, but no better. It is loud, slow and literally swills ink. I am going to throw this printer in the trash and consider it a lesson well-learned. I will either go back to my old printer or buy another brand. I no longer trust Canon to build a quality product.

Scanning is dumbed down

I've used Canon printers/scanners for several years and have been satisfied with their performance. After my long term Canon MX 850 failed I purchased the MX922 thinking that the same abilities would continue. We use yours for printing and scanning. The way that Canon has supposedly improved the scanning was to limit scanning capabilities by requiring the operator to put only one set of papers for a particular file where as with the 850 you could scan all the papers and then select the folder to send them to instead of the labor and time consuming process of only one set for one file and then resetting the files in the scanner and then repeating the process. What used to take minutes now takes hours. The customer service folks have been very apologetic but there seems to be no change in the wings. Unfortunately we are now shopping for a printer/scanner that has the capabilities of the MX850. The 922 has some nice expanded features though. If you are a heavy scanner user and store in many different files stay well clear of this unit. If you only print it is a fine machine.

printer is garbage

have had this printer for 6mths but hardly ever use it b/c every time I try to use it something is wrong! Won't print black ink, won't feed the paper, etc....

PIXMA MX922 regularly loses communication with PC

When my PIXMA MX922 is printing well, there is no PC to printer errors, however, very often my PC loses connection to my printer, reporting a "Printer not found" error. Uninstalling and then reinstalling the PIXMA MX922 printer using the included "Set Up" disk, most times solves the problem. Does Canon have a fix for this problem?

Very happy with my MX922

Not really a big review writer, but had to chime in seeing the reviews on this site. Maybe mine is special for some reason, but I've been very happy with my MX922 for nearly a year. No issues getting it set up on multiple computers, prints right from my iPhone too. Scans in color or black and white have been good quality, no complaints there. Altogether, it has been a very good product.
I would recommend this to a friend!
