Frustrating Printer
on March 9, 2014

One word best describes this printer - FRUSTRATING!!! I bought this printer because I needed a printer that could print wirelessly. Unfortunately, the wireless feature is the worse part about this printer because it constantly looses the wireless connection. Huh??? If you look at the reviews this is a common complaint and the Canon "fixes" do not help. Print quality is good and features are nice, but constantly having to reset the WLAN connection is a major pain! The printer also has a appetite for ink.
Pros: nice features
Cons: constantly loses wireless connection, uses a lot of ink
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Tragically Short-Lived

I purchased this printer almost a year and a half ago, and have been very happy with it's performance until a few days ago when it the print head suddenly went terminal. It was working just fine, then BOOM. I got a B200 error message saying to turn off and unplug the printer, that it required repair, and it was not lying. After reading numerous posts online about the same problem, which turns out to be fairly common, the only possible solution is to replace the print head, though that's at least half the price of a new printer all together. I am really disappointed in the short life span of this printer because it was a good price and I felt I had gotten an good value with it as well.
Faulty print head aside, the memory for making copies is pretty decent, the print quality is good, and the ink seemed to last for a good while. Photos I printed were underwhelming, so I wouldn't say that's a selling feature compared to photo printers, but if you're not big into scrapbooking or such, it really isn't a big deal.

worst printer imaginable

Bought one that didn't work (print jam message appeared before I even tried to print), so Canon replaced it (but first tried to charge me for the UPS pickup or make me haul it to a drop-off). A second was delivered--with no print head. Waited for that, got printing, can't make scanner work, and online manual doesn't even mention scanner instructions. Whirs and grinds for about a half a day to warm up. When you select "no" to recommend to a friend below, a pop up blocks the page so you can't post your review.

Costly, terrible machine

This printer is a waste of money. It has good quality prints, but the ink is wretchedly high and you have to buy the tri-pack on most occasions. Rarely can I find in stores a single color cartridge. In addition, if you are missing one of the cartridges, you cannot scan. Why would you need ink in order to scan? You don't. This is just a trap to get you to spend more money.

Disappointed

Very flimsy construction. Too many gadget icons that fill your screen, expensive ink, and I absolutely did not like MY GARDEN. I suppose it would be okay for those who do not know how to use a computer, but there are far too many companies out there that keep trying to organize your computer files for you. I am a professional and therefore don't need the fluff to operate a printer.
After having the MX700 for years, there is no comparison with the craftsmanship. My MX700 was a work horse for many, many years and I never had a problem with it. This MX922 looks and feels like it might break when you load paper in it. Very disappointing.
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Flimsy Construction, too many software gadgets
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Drops Network Connection
on June 27, 2015

It's a nice printing if you are using it for wireless printing. Almost everyone is having the same problem. It drops the network connection a lot.
If your search internet for reviews you will find there are a lot of complaints about this. There are no real solutions.

BEYOND WORTHLESS
on May 25, 2016

I have had this printer for the last 10 months. It was purchased to replace a defunct HP. I would rather have my HP back. In 9 months I have replace the color cartridges three times and the Black cartridges 4 times now. If I were printing color brochures and Power Point presentations I could understand burning through so much color, but since I print an average of 10 single page B&W documents a month the burning through of the color cartridges is outrageous and unexplainable. That and the fact that the print does not print anywhere close the the advertised PPM even when set to the lowest dpi setting. This printer is BEYOND WORTHLESS.

Worst quality ever

I have had 2 of these now. Neither has made it more than a few days. The first would not feed paper correctly or print straight. Returned for replacement.
The second unit will not even get past setup. Fails on alignment every time. The features and price seemed great, but not if I can't even print a single page.
Canon quality appears to be going down the tubes. I used to be a Canon fan too. Have owned several Canon printers, scanners, and cameras.
Cons: unreliable, poorly made
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
