Great Machine

I bought this printer to replace my canon PIXMA 4000 and 1800 machines. the quality of this machine is superior over the older Canon printers I replaced. the machine prints fast and scans documents wonderfully. This is only my first week with this machine and I have scanned about 400 documents and printed about 200 reports. If this machine performs this well over the long hall I will be very pleased. If you are looking for a solid machine that does not cost you an arm and leg this is the ticket.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Small Footprint, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use, price
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Printer

This is my third Pixma printer and all have been great machines. I read the reviews and it makes me crazy when people do not do their homework as to what they are buying, and then knock the product because it will not do what they want it too. The only CON about Canon printers is you have to be somewhat tech savvy to set them up quickly, especially the network printers. PRO's the scanner is the best out there, cost per copy is one of the lowest, much cheaper than HP, and fast. Please read reviews before buying a product. Weed out the people that blame the product for their shortcomings, "it was bigger then I thought", or "it will not do this or that". I like Canon products, have owned them for many, many years and will continue to buy them.

Too many problems to list. Too much time I won’t get back trying to use it.

Dreaded B200 Error
on April 30, 2020

Do your research before you buy -- search the web for the evil "B200" error. Then decide for yourself if the printer is worth the risk.
Like many others I liked the printer until the dreaded B200 error showed up. Over and over and over. Frequently. With a lot of effort each time I was able to make it go away, but now it's permanent and has rendered every function of the printer useless. If you enjoy spending more time trying to fix your printer than actually using it, then this is the perfect printer for you. As for me, I'm tired of fighting it so this one is going to the dump.
BTW, "B200" means, "There's something wrong with your printer, but we're not going to tell you what it is." Time for an Epson or HP...

Disappointing

I have owned 6-7 Canon Multifunction Printers over the years. This one is a disappointment. It is made with flimsy materials and is extremely noisy. There is no option to load paper from a rear tray and the paper tray in the front is hidden so you have to open the drawrer to find out if you need paper or wait until the printer tells you have run out. The functions all work. The print quality is even quite good.
Pros: Easy Setup, High Quality Output
Cons: Flimsy Construction

1/2 an older MX printer

I replace my old MX 870 a couple weeks ago with a new MX 922. The MX 922 has replaced the universal rear paper feed with a short tray and a cd slot. 1 the short tray must be removed from machine and reset for envelops, photo paper, etc. 2 cd slot requires 10 key stokes on the print panel to start operation. next remove short tray and unclip cd tray from bottom, load cd to tray , open cd slot door , insert cd tray, place cd in scanner and select B&W or Color. all to make a one to one copy because their is no way to the scan. Lastly, I had to disable the fax because it was switching from phone call to fax minuets into a call.
Pros: High Quality Output
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, unreliable

I just bought my printer lat night when my previous model from another ocmpany failed. I needed to finish some work, fast! The Canon MX922 set-up was easy but a little long, and it installed easily - until I got to the point when I needed to connect to my computer. I opted not to install the wifi to save time, but there was NO USB CABLE included to connect the printer to my computer! I don;t have the square end version required for the Canon hanging around my house. I had to borrow one form a friend to finish my work and go out today to buy one. This would be a simple customer service item to include. Canon, why not begin today so other customers aren't frustrated?
Also, the bottom paper tray jams when it is almost full. I had to take half the paper out to get it to print consistently.
However, the print quality is really nice.

not if you want wireless
on May 6, 2014

Laptop usually shows the printer not available. If you wait long enough if may eventually connect.
Just tried to scan and the printer can not find my laptop. The laptop can not find the printer. They are a few feet apart.
Purchased specifically for wireless use but find I usually end up having to use the USB connection. Very frustrating. The store recommended another brand and I wish I had listened.
Pros: High Quality Output
Cons: Difficult to use, unreliable
