Worst Printer Ever Owned
on October 27, 2014

I've never, ever had such a worhless printer. Today, I fed it all the ink it wanted after using the piddly amount of ink supplied with the printer. All I wanted to do was print one simple page. Now it tells me I have a paper jam, which I do not. All it does is do whatever startup process it does to waste more ink! Furthermore, in the 6 months I've had this printer, every time I try to print, it causes me to lose my home network connection. My last printer was a Canon and I never had an ounce of trouble with it. I would not recommend the MX 922 to anyone!

Worst printer I've had

This is the 2nd MX922 I've had, after returning the 1st one for errors, I know get "There is no paper in the cassette" errors and can't print anything. I have to be at an appointment to get signatures in less then an hour and...again...it won't print. This printer is not reliable, drinks ink like coolaid and the wireless won't stay connected ( and it is right next to the wireless box).

Love it,,,but,,,,,

My Canon MX882 took a dive yesterday after many years of great service. I was in a hurry to buy a replacement & knew I wanted another Canon. I had it set up including Wi-Fi in 20 min. It is much like the 882 but the only major drawback for me is on the 882 you could load envelopes in the back tray without having to change out the paper. On this machine I have to take out the paper that I print letters on, fill the bottom tray with envelopes. This is very, very inconvenient & had I known this 'before' having it set up I might have checked out other machines.

Very disappointing that this printer will not print on card stock. Previous Pixma models had no such problems.

Bought this 6 months ago. Constant connection problems. Very slow printing. Eats ink like candy. Otherwise, it looks nice.

Love/Hate relationship

I have had to call Canon (thank goodness the Tech Support is so good) several times to deal with issues with network connectivity, but when the printer is working, it prints beautifully, copies and faxes smoothly. However, it is huge, heavy, and noisy. The time it takes to prepare to print is endless, although once it begins to print it is fine. The fax is fast, but the copier function is not. My husband and I are long-term technology professionals and have had other brands and Canon printers. In general I prefer the Canons, but I would prefer a non-behemoth printer that doesn't shake the entire table when it runs. I had an MP840 that was the best printer I ever owned: quiet, fast, and reliable. I wish this printer had to quality of my old 840. If we can put a man on the moon......

Good printer but could be better

My old 880 finally died after 5 years of constant service. Had to get this one at a moments notice. I like that it prints on disc media. I don't like the fact that it does not have a rear tray for heavy 110# paper. It is quieter than my old one and faster. I like the AirPrint but it needs work. I need to be able to change trays, print size, orientation and tray location, b/w and duplex for documents. I like the front panel ink tray. The web site shows a screen for photos in front of the printer but mine does not have one. When I installed the printer on my MacBook Pro I had the install the updated drivers and it installed. I copied the new drivers to install it only wife's MBP and it installed more items. When I tried to register it it said there was no internet available. I also like the AirScan feature. One last thing, I wish the ink cartridges were larger and not as expensive. It's a shame that it is almost cheaper to buy another printer than to buy 2 sets of inks.

Never Works Right

I bought this a month ago. Every time I try to print, it doesn't want to print. It tells me another computer is using the machine and nothing else is hooked up, nor do I have multiple devices using it. Try to fax and nope, wont do that either. Try to scan and it won't do that right either. I followed all the directions to set it up multiple times and still will not work right for any project I need it to.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
