Poor quality

I have had a lot of Canon printers and this is the worst. Itis made very poorly and does not look like other Canon printers. I have th MX860 and enjoyed it for about 5 years and then the printhead bured out. This new printer MX922 that has taken its place is no comparison. This is a disservice to the Canon name. It is so flimsy that you are afraid it will fall apart. Do not buy this one
Pros: fast print speed
Cons: Difficult Setup, Flimsy Construction

Not intuitive, super heavy, software doesn't download at all from the Canon site for my PC but did from my Apple laptop. Really disappointed and I see here in this forum i'm not alone. Sad in 2014 to have these kinds of problems. It's forever changed my perception of the Canon brand.

Do not buy

I bought a canon MX 922 in 2014, after a year it broke. Bought another one end of 2016 as I already had cartridges and it broke again exactly the same way. Black printing becomes hazy and very light. Very disappointed. This s a bad product.

Canon printers are terrible

This is the third Canon printer I have owned. I am a professional photographer and use only Canon products for my work, so I decided to stick with Canon printers for home use. No more. None of the three lasted more than two years. All three had print head errors and cleaning/resetting did not fix the issue. This is a massive problem that Canon knows about and is not addressing. I'm starting to rethink Canon products in general after this. If they can't engineer a printer that lasts for two years they are just plain incompetent.

Not reading instructions causes bad reviews

I have always owned H P Printers. When I needed a new one, I opted for a Cannon and I'm glad I did. Sure the other brand was very simple to set up, but the quality and software are much better, The MX 922 is a little harder to set up, but if you follow the step by step directions the end result is an reliable all-in-one machine. I had to go over the set-up a couple times, but it was worth it. I think its a shame that the MX922 got a lot of negative reviews due to user error, or not understanding, or not even reading the instructions.
It's obvious because the reviews are either Great, or Terrible. Not many in the middle. That to me says quite a lot. The photo printing is also great.

A terrible necessity.

There are many things wrong with this printer. It drinks ink like a vampire in a blood bank. It drops the wireless connection constantly. But my biggest beef is just... how... long... it... takes to warm itself up for the simplest print jobs. Five minutes of humming and hawing to print out a Word doc. Worst printer I've ever owned. Pass this behemoth by.

Slow, Unreliable, Poorly Designed, Ink Waster
on October 8, 2015

Although some sites have given this printer positive reviews, they are not deserved.
First the printer consistently disconnects from the Wi-Fi. I do have a work around of plugging directly into the printer via usb cable.
Second the printer cannot be used if any of the color ink carts are empty, even if you only intend to print black & white. As well many times when black & white or grayscale are selected color ink is used anyway.
Third, if any of the ink carts are empty you cannot use any other features, such as fax, or scan. The entire system locks up.
Fourth it is a very slow printer.
Fifth it has a very small paper tray which requires consistent reloading.
I could deal with the slowness & the small paper tray. I can even deal with having to plug my laptop directly in. However the entire system freezing up when a single ink cart is out I cannot abide by. I have missed important work deadlines because of this printer.
I have owned many printers that were superior to this in the past & cannot fathom why such an inferior product is being sold now. It boggles my mind. Is this 1985 or 2015? These issues should have been solved 20 years ago.

Poor scanning quality (I mean real bad). Ink cartridges leaked on my hands when I set it up for the first time.
Purchased one week ago. Thinking about returning it. I will write more later. Canon, your down hill.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Low Quality Output, unreliable, Flimsy Construction
