Great Printer When It Works
on May 7, 2016

If this printer would actually stay connected to the network for more than 3 minutes, it would be a great printer. It is packed full of features but it has horrible connectivity. Printing anything is a frustratingly ridiculous.

As good as any of these are

Eventually mind stopped working, but I'm replacing it with another. Off-brand ink is pretty affordable. As a low volume home printer the picture quality was great on my last one for more than 3 years, no issues. I used to get upset when my printers stopped working after 3-4 years, but they all make this plastic junk for a long time now, like the opposite of a Weber grill. :) Given that they still make this, and I can keep using the pile of inexpensive ink I bought online, and it performed very well for me for I think it was about 4 years... I'd love something to last longer and be repairable, but this is what's out there, and it does produce great prints for as long as anything else I've ever had.

Great Photographic copies

Just bought this copier for a friend whose HP died after 10 years. The photographs we have copied are very good, and some even better than the originals. We have done both B&W and Color. Both reproduce with clarity and accurate color for the color photos. I am a photographer and use a Canon EOS 35mm camera and lenses. I have also worked in a professional commercial photo lab. The copies are very close to what we would have printed from good negatives. The set-up is easy and the only negative is that there is no hard copy owner's manual. Available here from Canon on the web. If some the users need a faster copier, then they should look at Canon's larger printers and pony up the bucks required to own one. This is a great printer for home and small business use. Has more functions than my friend will ever use. Great for an aspiring photographer to make sample prints to distribute to potential customers. Love that the printer has the primary color ink cartridges (magenta, cyan and yellow). The same filters used in printing enlargements from film. Rated one of the top five printers for 5 2017 by an independent lab (and they have to purchase all of the products test, no freebees from the manufacturers). My friend is happy and that is what is important.

Outstanding - link I supply resolves issues!

I bought this about a month ago and other than the fact that is uses a lot of ink, it really is a quality product. If it wasn't for the ink usage I would have given it the full 5 stars. Many people however have had problems with this printer over a network connection, however I have a resolution for that which makes the network connectivity and communications with this printer ROCK SOLID - so there is NO ISSUE AT ALL! Good overall value - The 2nd one I have purchased

The best junk (MFP) printer on the market. Cannon does the Polariod camera thing. They almost give you the printer for free, then charge you a bunch of money for the print cartridges.
We had the print head go out on one and found that it is cheaper to buy the whole printer rather than replace the print head. Similar to - if the engine dies replace the car.

Not a reliable printer

Just for more than 1 year of use. The print head is getting bad with error code 1403, which required to replace the print head. It was broken right at the time I need it the most!!!!

Not worth it
on April 24, 2020

We have had the MX922 product for less than 2 years and it just didn't last like other Canon printers. All the necessary functions for a home office are there, but the quality of the build wasn't worth the nearly two hundred dollars. This printer didn't even last over 2 years before it started getting this B200 error code and rendered it useless. After an attempt to let it do a deep clean, the printer just died and plugging it into a different power outlet didn't help. This model was a complete waste of money and I am very disappointed in it, given the fact that my sister's MG series Canon from like a decade ago still works fine. This MX should have lasted longer, so it truly deserves this low rating.

Died while cleaning

I’ve owned the MX922 for 2 years with very little use and it died while attempting a deep cleaning. We liked the features, just thought we should have gotten a few more years out of it. Planned obsolescence to get you to buy another one.
