Absolute worst printer I have ever used
on June 10, 2014
Posted by: J
This printer disconnects often from the internet - turns itself off - disconnects from your computer - stalls - slow to start - uses ink quickly - constantly asks for new drivers when you have just installed new drivers. THE WORST PRINTER I HAVE USED IN OVER 25 YEARS. Do not buy - run fast - stay away!!!!! Below the boxes will ask you how long I have been a Canon enthusiast....NOT ANYMORE
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, unreliable, everything
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it!

Absolutely love this printer! I replaced a dying printer of another brand back in January 2014 and I have not looked back!. The set-up was easy and I have not had any problems with connectivity. The only feature I have not used it to print photos on photo paper. The ability to print directly from my iPhone and iPad just like I am printing from my computer is the best!
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don't waste your time

The first thing I noticed was that this printer, promised as the replacement for the MX882, has no rear tray capability. That means that I can no longer print on stiff card stock, and if I want to print a #10 envelope, I need to take the letter-side paper out of the tray, and try to align the envelope. I say, "try" because the one time I tried, the printer declared the envelope jammed. I removed it, but the printer hasn't worked since.

Simply put. It was easy to set up, understand, and work with. I have made photos, did the 2-sided page and scanned. It was easy to connect with the wifi as well. Awesome I think. I

worst printer ever

This printer has given more problems than all my previous printers combined. Won't print black and white even when any color is low. The consistent paper feed issue is incredibly hindering. Overall terrible. Would not wish this printer on my worst enemy. I will never buy a canon printer again.

One disappointment
on September 29, 2015

Althought the MX972 is very similar to my MX880 which was great, there is one disappointment with the new purchase. Unlike the MX880, the MX972 does not have a rear paper loading area. Now, if I want to print an envelope, I have to remove the regular paper and add enevelopes. I preferred having the rear tray where I could place picture paper, envelopes, or checks without changing out the standard paper. The MX972 does have a separate tray for picture paper, so that is nice, but since I use envelopes and checks more than pictures, I'm disappointed with having to remove the paper all the time, This is especially frustrating when I want to print checks. I have to remove the regular paper. It's just less convenient than the old model but works very much the same way.

Very Pleased

I am very pleased with the Pixma 922 printer.
Startup is slow due to the functions, copy, fax, scan, and wireless.
I miss being able to highlight a paragraph to print which could be done on the Canon i860 that was replaced.

Good printer but...

This is the second Pixma MX922 I have owned. Threw the first one away when it did too bad a job of vertical lines - there seems to be hysteresis in the print carriage drive such that right-to-left does not print in the same place as left-to-right. New printer is showing the same problem at two months.
