Terrible printer...too many issues

Have had nothing but issues with this printer. Driver problems, ink cartridge problems. Currently have spent an hour working on it as it has just stopped printing images. Text is fine but will stall when "processing" processing any image and then just stop. Avoid this printer at all costs.

We've had this printer for close to 2 years now.2 high school students and a mom that is constantly printing reports from home. So far its wonderful. never had problem with wifi. We love the wireless prining capabilities from laptops, surface, ipad, and iphones. best investment, couldn't be happier.

I have nothing further to add that others haven't said already:1)processes, noisy, jams, etc.
So, what do you suggest as a replacement that has the same features including fax,
good text and photos, fits in a reasonable space.

I'm surprised by all these negative comments honestly. I've owned this printer for over a year and a half now and other then it drinking ink and not being completely descriptive about what side up is up for photo paper it's worked. It connected to my wireless network easily, connects to all my products *phone, computers, tablets* I would say that it goes through in incredibly fast. My only complaint. I don't have issues with paper trays, networking, scanning etc. I guess buy it some place with a return policy.

Won't work when brand new

I bought this today and could not complete the setup (auto align error). The suggestions online do not help as I cannot do anything until the setup has completed. It is also very noisy at startup and shutdown. Shutdown takes a minute or so!

This printer replaced a well used and much liked PIXMA MP530. It's not anywhere as reliable, much more finnicky about paper and lacks a manual feed for printing on special paper or card stock. The control panel commands and buttons are not intuitive, and often confusing because there are fewer dedicated buttons. And with a broken LCD it's useless. I have to use the software control panel for everything!
The paper feeder is balky, needing clearing and cleaning numerous times a week, and often just refuses to print.(with a pop up saying there's no paper!)
As mentioned above, the LCD screen is now blank (it stopped working for no reason) and it's only 18 months old, past the one year warranty.
Print quality is just OK, and standard business color printing generally seems to be more muted than older model. Paper loading is limited and awkward. Toner usage seems higher than in the past also.
In general I dislike using it and will look at other models more closely before buying another Canon printer.
