I have been using printers for over 25 years. Worst I have ever had. Poor quality and has to be re-set frequently to the simplest functions. Once I run out of ink cartridges it is going to be a charitable write off.

Printer refuses to stay connected via wifi

The printer worked great for the first three months or so. After that, it refuses to stay connected to the printer. I've searched through the web to find a solution and all of them work temporarily (maybe a week) but eventually then it disconnects again. This issue seems to be well documented all over the internet yet there doesn't seem to be a solution.

Lasted 18 months or less

I had an earlier version of this machine that stopped working after about 2 years, but I liked its features. I bought this all in one machine in August of 2016. Around November of 2017 I started getting faded copies when I copied from the platen; it worked OK when I copied from the automatic document feeder. Turns out the lamp
that works on the platen is burned out and there is no way to fix it. Avoid this product.

I have 2 of these printers and the software is inconsistent. I am forever having to reload and set it up. The control operation interface is terrible.
The color prints are great, when you get it working !
I would NOT recommend this.
I just bought a new Brother printer.

Long start up

Overall I'm happy with this printer. But it sure takes a long time to start up. It's only a month old so I can't comment on how long the ink lasts vs refill costs.
Pros: High Quality Output, easy to use
Cons: it takes a long time to power up

First one broke after a few uses and replaced it with a new one because I already had the ink.

PITIFUL!!

I researched printers extensively before purchasing this one. I chose the MX922 because it had all the features I was looking for and previous reviews for other Canon printers were positive. HOWEVER, this printer is HORRIBLE! If it is not in continuous use, it loses wireless connection. I constantly have to input the passcode. Oh, and if it were being used continuously, be prepared to shell out bucks for the ink. I never understand how the colored ink runs out so fast when I print mostly in black and white??????

Setup Problems
on March 9, 2015

from Arlington, TX
When I tried to install the printer I was unable to do so; the instructions were vague and incomplete. After two hours I returned the printer to the store for a refund. One of the salespeople showed how to get around some the problems so I took it back home and tried again. After another one and half hours i was able to install it with LAN but not the USB cable installation that I wanted. I had to wait until Monday and call Canon technical support to complete the installation. In contrast, I installed the printer I was replacing (a PIXMA MP530) on my backup computer in twenty minutes.
Another problem I noticed is the user's manual. Once I downloaded it and read it I found it much less detailed and complete than the one provided with the Canon MP 530.
Now that I have finally got it seup it seems to be working fine.
