GSWF Design Change

The shoulders inside the filter are shorter than earlier iterations. The latest filter won’t fully actuate the water valve. I added some o-rings to make up the difference and got it to work. The latest are labeled GSWF but have MSWF in the description.

Pressure Loss

i notice a significant water pressure loss at the refrigerators water spout. this has been getting worse over time. Although at times, i can get a new GSWF filter that seems to work fine, ie. no flow or pressure drop problems. The problem seems to lie in the filter. There is no build up if the refrigerators tubing/routing. This problem has been getting worse and i attribute it to the manufacturing process.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We do have a test process to determine if the pressure and water flow is lower than we would expect, and whether the filter is clogged or you have another issue. That test is laid out in the following article, if you'd like to review the process: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16873 . The test also discusses other possible issues that could cause a lack of water pressure.

Moved into a house and used the existing refrigerator. The water feature was so slow we considered replacing the fridge. The contractor suggested changing the water filter. We did and, WOW!!!....my son said "the water comes out like a fire hose now".
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good tasting water

This filter seems to work fine.... the water is fresh tasting. It is very hard to remove the filter from its place in the refrigerator, do not know if this is a design flaw or just that it fits in so tightly.
I would recommend this to a friend!
