This game is great. It is suitable for the whole family. It is not as inapropriate as evryone says. You do not have to do the bad things, that is optional. The only thing you have to do is when you do the campain you may have to take care of some drug dealers. But who cares about drug dealers. They are bad people. In this game you are actually cleaning the streats of mean people. You have to do this with use of force, of couse. But, sometimes you dont achieve your goals without some force. Like, if you tried to talk to a person who was about to shoot you, you would be dead. But if you kicked the gun out of the person's hand and tackled him/her to the ground you would have a better chance. I'm just saying that all the bad things that they say are in this game are optional. It is also a very fun game. You can really do anything you want. You can fly a helicopter then jump out over water and emerge unharmed. Great game, do not imediatly think it is to inapropriate.

Ever since I was about 8 I discovered Grand Theft Auto. It Actually started with The Second Grand Theft Auto. One of my brothers friends, played it. I never asked to play, until one day my brother brought home Grand Theft Auto 3. I asked him if I could try. I did, Went absolutely insane with the gun. It is horrible actually. I just shot every random person. Than he bought Vice City. I loved it too. Years later, I met a friend in 7th grade, I went to his house, was playing a video game, He was playing Vice City. I screamed and begged him for me to try it. I haven't played since I was 9. than He also had San Andrea's. Than the same friend reserved Grand Theft Auto 4. I was freaking out, especially when he got it. I played it with him. Once I think I played it for 3 days straight. Today, I bought my own, and I'm playing it as I type this. I can seriously either pass missions, or if I'm bored I'll go into a park, and beat people up. Its a good, good game just, Its a little addictive. Especially when It's summer.

Grand Theft Auto IV is really one of the best games in a very long time. It has extremely good graphics that make things very real. Of course on a game this big there are going to be a few clipping problems, but nothing that really detracts from the feel of the game. The game play and storyline are great. You can obviously beat the main game in under 30 hours (It’s one of the achievements), but there are so many more side missions to do that it really can keep you playing for well, days, hours at a time… years hopefully, but probably not. The sound track to this game is immense; as you are driving there is about 9 different radio stations with 24 min of music/talking on each one. There is a lot, and I mean a lot of swearing in this game so I advise not playing this in front of the younger people, or buying it for them. The driving in the game is although a little loose and easy to go out of control, once you get the hang of it and start driving nicer cars then you really don’t have to worry much about it. Airplanes are gone (thank goodness) but you can still fly helicopters. You can play Darts, pool, bowling, go to a cabaret club, and even a comedy club. At the beach you can take a look through one of those magnify things that you see on piers all the time. For vigilante mode you actually access the police computer from the car and find the whereabouts of the crook. There are car races and getting the specific types of cars for people. Also, as always the hidden packages (which I think are pigeons in this game) and stunt jump spots. A nice new addition to this game is that it is a little more modern. You get a cell phone that you can setup having a drink with your friends or inviting your girlfriend to play a game of bowling. Also, you can go online at the Internet café and browse the “internet” (it’s all built into the game, but there is a huge amount of different websites to visit) or check your e-mail. As you can see there is a lot of fun to be had with this game even if you don’t follow through the storyline, or want to deviate at all. There is also a great online multiplayer mode that you can do a lot of the same with the free roam, also, death match style things. Unfortunately I can’t say much about the online yet because I have not played it too much, but what I have seen is a lot of fun. I say if you enjoy any of the GTA games, or any of the other sandbox style game series then you will love this one. Try it out!
What's great about it: Graphics, game play, story, the addition of Multi-player online, I’ll just say it’s the game.
What's not so great: I’m only putting something down because I feel I should. The Con would be control of the car, not really that bad though

I'm a big fan of the GTA series. This game only made me more of a fan after being a bit let down by San Andreas.
First off, you can interact with nearly EVERYTHING in this city. You can pick up a brick and hurl it at an enemy, find numerous small alleyways with a fire escape you can run up, and find side missions with average people on the street.
The missions are very fun, and start you off small. And when I say small, I mean it! One mission involves throwing a brick through a window, haha. But eventually you get up to the big ones like bank heists, large drug deals and assassinations.
The theme of this game is centered around revenge, unlike trying to amass wealth, as is the central theme in most other GTA's. It also plays a part in some missions, where you have to decide whether or not your victim will die. You can choose to let them live and possibly interact with them later on in the game. This feature allows for even more replay-ability. I might start up a new game and change my paths this time.
The only drawbacks are: 1. If you're just goofing around and trying to die in amusing ways, the death camera lasts way too short thanks to it being in VERY slow motion (we all know you want to see Niko fly headfirst into a building and then land on a car on the street). 2. The story is pretty good, but it could've lasted longer. I felt like this was a quick story to get through. More filler characters than ones that help develop the story. 3. Whenever you hop up to a small ledge, you actually jump past it and fall to your death. I'd like to think Niko has a little better judgement than that.
So overall, despite a few minor drawbacks, this is a very good game. The M rating is well deserved, but who doesn't like that?!
What's great about it: Graphics, Enviroment, Characters
What's not so great: Story could've lasted a bit longer, Falling off a small ledge after climbing up it, Slo-mo deaths
