I have read a lot of other reviews on this title. There are a couple of legitimate grips. There is a problem with the game being easy, (I recommend starting on Hard instead of easy of medium). Also, there is a problem with the game starting to randomly freeze. (This is because on this game it saves everything. You can go back to the first level when you are at the end to retrieve something you may have forgotten. There is also an easy fix for this; If it starts freezing your 360's cache is full and all you have to do is hold the "A" button as you turn on the 360 until the game is up and ready to go. Skip problem is then gone.
Graphically this game is extremely well done. It lacks any kind of multiplayer, but with how intense the graphics are you probably won't miss it. All in all this is a great game for avid FPS players or novices as well.
For the people who buy games based on Achievements for the 360, you won't be disappointed either. There are a lot of 5-point achievements, which come up quite often; there are also a lot of achievements that are really substantial.

Bioshock represents years of pining by "cerebral gamers" to get a game that's finally both fun AND features an intelligent story with smart gameplay. After System Shock 2 was released to fantastic reviews but lukewarm sales, it started to seem as though developers were shying away from similar design fearing that it might be too highbrow for the gaming audience, but Bioshock bucks that trend by becoming one of the year's most well received and best SELLING games out there. Bioshock is, at its heart, an FPS with a sci-fi twist on magic abilities. Set in an underwater city during the late 60's, it features a host of genetically altered people, and a rock solid story that is told through the use of audio players and a mic system connected to some of the game's main characters (complete with old-time static for extra audio goodness). The game also features an pseudo RPG-lite setup, and allows you to sort of create a character that fits your gameplay style, which goes well with the fact that the game also features multiple endings and multiple paths for winning. The levels aren't necessarily open-ended, but the solutions to problems ARE, which makes for some incredibly varied gameplay, as well as something that will draw you back into giving the game's 20+ hours another play through. The game isn't perfect. There are a lot of complaints about lack of penalty for dying (you get revived automatically at no charge, and the damage you've dealt to characters remains), and the story can get confusing... especially during the first play through. But don't let the stop you from getting the game. At its heart, this is as much an interactive story as it is a game, and the ease of beating the title doesn't deter from the fact that it's one of the greatest gaming experiences to come along in years. If you like your games mindless and fast and furious, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you want a little more depth to your games, and a good story that you can walk away from feeling satiated, you're not going to find a better game than this one. From atmosphere, to graphics, to gameplay, to story, this is the perfect example of a AAA title, and shouldn't be missed.

By far, this has to be the most interesting yet beautiful shooter I've played yet. It's all the hype that it was hyped up to be. If you have a 1080i or 1080p HDTV - this game will look stunning on your TV. The storyline is so creepy and retro at the same time. It's a 1960s feel to a futuristic world underwater - YET - the weapons are retro. A retro-feel to a futuristic world underwater. The violence and gore is top notch. It made all my disappointment in Halo 3 go away. This game had me playing for hours and hours and hours and the storyline is just way too weird and compelling that I had to force myself to save my game progress and stop so I could go to bed! It's that fun. You've got plenty of powers (called plasmids) and weapons in the game. The only downfall of the game is the "hacking" aspect of it all. When you buy the game, you'll come across these "hacks" that you can perform or pay to be bypassed which gets truly annoying. Tripping the security alarms also adds to ruining the flow of the game, but other than that, this game is visually stunning, gameplay is top notch, and the detail put into graphics and storyline is 1st class!
What's great about it: Incredible detail. Developers spent a lot of attention to environment detail AND storyline. It's incredible!
What's not so great: After a while, you get tired of "hacking" and tripping alarms. It just deters the fun of the whole game

Overall, I love this game, awesome graphics, great sound, I got an Xbox for my birthday almost a week ago, and I got this game first and I was amazed at how good the graphics were, gameplay is awesome, a lot of twist and turns in this game, very strategic. The only thing that I didnt really care for was the fact that the storyline is fairly quick, it moves along extremely fast and another fact is that you dont get to kill the main villain, its a cut scene. If you go in there thinking that you will have some awesome boss battle with him, its a totally different story when you reach him. Overall, AWESOME GAME! Buy it for sure
What's great about it: Graphics, gameplay, stategic, sound, and characters
What's not so great: Quick storyline, and you dont get to kill the main bad villain

This is one of the best games in the first person shooter category. There are almost no load screens and the story is told in your ear by tape recordings throughout the game. The action is intense and your choices determine the outcome of the game.
What's great about it: Great and different style and environment

Bioshock creates one of the most immersive environments I have ever seen in a game. The graphics are second to none (thanks to the Unreal Engine), and the writing is spot on. My only complaint is the lack of multiplayer; however, the single player has more than enough replay value.
What's great about it: Gripping Story, Great Audio and Graphics
